  1. I never knew there were books about bass fishing.......
  2. Well that’s exactly what I did. I threw a Texas rigged 5” Senko and I caught several largemouth bass. There was no doubt in my mind that the fish jumping are bass. The question I originally had and still have is if I see bass jumping, does that mean they are feeding topwater and will a top water bait work. So far I’ve gotten 2 blowups on the frog (missed both, don’t know why, but that’s for a different time).
  3. So it must be the smaller bass jumping for insects. I really doubt that they are carp
  4. No one ever stocks this pond. How do they get there?
  5. Yes I’m positive they’re bass. It’s a small pond and no one has ever caught a carp here. Maybe they have a reason. It could be because of oxygen, or they’re feeding on frogs or birds or anything else...
  6. If I see a whole bunch of bass jumping (at around sunset), does that mean they will bite topwater?
  7. So why are people against using lead, and instead use tungsten?
  8. I hate the fact that lakes are turning into dumps
  9. But doesn’t it emit lead and toxic chemicals into the water if it’s sitting on the bottom?
  10. Is lead a problem if it brakes off and is now sitting in the lake?

Is there a bigger chance they will bite a rapala jerkbait? I know that corn is ideal but as of now I’m looking for alternatives

Any one here had luck with the netbait baby paca craws?

Why is everyone so against swivels? What harm can it possibly do?

If I fish an ordinary Senko in a lake that contains both bass and carp, what are the chances I would catch a carp?

If they aren’t biting on senkos, would they possibly want to bite a craw?

How about using 8lb fluorocarbon? I have the abu Garcia pro max. How well would that do?

Yes, but I’m afraid to fish a crankbait because this pond has some pretty heavy cover. That’s why I always used a Senko.
  18. Can I use my bass fishing gear for saltwater fishing? Like can I just pick up by baitcaster and light line and head out to the saltwater and catch big stripers?

I’ve always had luck with Senko fishing. I recently found a new pond and my go-to bait was Senkos - I was catching at least 2 bass a day. However recently I haven’t gotten any. The other day I hooked one but it got off. The bite has been terribly slow, til the point I’ve gone days without one fish. It can’t be my presentation, because I’ve tried a whole bunch. Is it because they no longer want my Senko? Should I switch baits or something? I don’t want to use a crankbait because there a lot of heavy cover. Any advice would be appreciated
  20. How common is it for people to eat Largemouth Bass?
  21. I know that sunny days are not ideal for bass fishing, and I used to always go fishing late evening, which is known to be the best time for fishing, since that is feeding time. But lately my schedule wouldn’t allow me to go late evenings anymore. If I go fishing it would have to be around 4:30 PM, or maybe 5 or 6. Even though it’s not feeding time, but if it’s overcast, will the bass still bite?
  22. I only eat fish from an isolated small pond in middle of a forest, in a very rural town. Is it safe to eat those fish more than once a week?
  23. Hey what’s up everybody! Ive bumped into a problem I didn’t think I would bump into when I took up fishing, but here it is: I understand that once in a while everyone will lose lures. It happens. But the problem begins when those lost lures which either got snagged or broke off by a fish, end up in the water. Now these lures, sinkers and hooks, all contain levels of lead, which is obviously toxic. And this lead is now getting lost in the water, which potentially stays in the water for a very long amount of time, and more lures are ending up in the water as time comes and goes. I like to eat my catches, which is mainly trout, but could even be bass once in a while. Should I refrain from eating freshwater fish? It scares me on how so much pollution is ending up in the water....
  24. You can fix that (that the pond has small bass) by instead of releasing them, keep the small bass you catch, and therefore there will be a less competition for resources, allowing the bass to grow bigger. The pond I fish at is the same.
