Tacklemaking with Tech!
Vman, your point is valid but for me personally I would not want to be modifying the molds very often. You could figure out all of the variables on a couple of prototypes and save time and cost on building molds.

Tacklemaking with Tech!
Nate, Have you built any prototypes of the baits?

Flats and Fat Cranks
I can find a dumb fish to eat one every now and then. It's been a long time since I've seen you around.

Tacklemaking with Tech!
I would suggest you look into PVC board as a material for your baits. It will save you the extra work of sealing the baits. You will be able to test your baits faster and without worry water getting to the wood. I personally do not have much experience with this material but several guys on this board do.

Tacklemaking with Tech!
I like the way that you and Vman use your skills to create baits. I look forward to seeing the finished bait. Vman, that's going to be cool little swim bait.

Nate, The lipless baits are easy to build. Put most of your ballast weight in the front 1/3 and place the line tie at the very back edge of the flat spot on the baits head. You may have to fine tune the line tie but you want that bait to have a nose down attitude when swimming. That's the basic formula I've used for my lipless baits and it works. You guys are starting to scare me with the computer models. Vman what is the 2nd pic suppose to be, this red neck can't figure that one out.

Couple new patterns
All those baits are sweet. Could somebody paint just a normal color pattern, I'm starting to feel inadequate again.
-
Deadly Blue and Bluegill
All of those baits are fabulous and it doesn't matter if you catch fish with them. The paint patterns are still perfect, sometimes fish are too stupid to recognize talented work.

Flats and Fat Cranks
The top 3 baits are Petey style. The first bait is a big one at 3 inches long.

Amount of Airbrush Paint to Buy?
The colors I use the most are flo yellow, pearl white, yellow, and black, mostly for base coats. I buy those in 32oz bottles. Detail colors I buy in 1oz bottles and I have some colors that have lasted for several yrs. With a gravity feed brush you can shoot 1 drop of paint.

Smaller Cranks
This batch of baits are all 2 inches long and weigh in at a hefty 1/4oz. All are shallow running baits and should produce well as the water starts to cool down.

Devil's Hook, my jigg budy
Post that thing in the lure building forum, we understand this sort of stuff over there. Very cool idea by the way.

Custom Lure Painting Question
Thanks Jbass but I'm still not on the level with Dwain, CCP, CrankinCracker, or Fishwhittler.

Question concerning Spotted bass
Yes to everything RW said but man are they fun to catch. Usually willing to hit just about any bait and in general they are always ticked off.

Wind is your friend
I love throwing cranks to a wind blown bank.
