  1. I fish texas rigs through laydowns alot and occasionally get snags that I absolutely can't free. I'm assuming that my sinker is getting separated from the lure and causing it to wrap around or wedge in a branch or something. Would pegging or using a stop knot solve that?
  2. My topwater arsenal consists of a Rebel Pop-R, a Rebel Crickhopper, a Hula Popper, a Tiny Torpedo, a Heddon Spook Jr., and a Jitterbug. I never catch dick with them either.
  3. I know for a fact they make them for Cabela's at least. They even have Plano markings on the inside.
  4. FishUSA is doing this too. Actually I think everyone that sells Fenwick and Pflueger are doing it. I'd pull the trigger if they'd ever get the reel in back in stock.
  5. Necroing the crap outta this thread, but I feel like this is a better place to ask my question than starting a new thread. Has anyone fished the southwestern (East Lynn, RD Bailey, Mud River, etc) lakes recently? Are they decent enough to justify driving to? I've always stereotyped them as being poor quality, but I honestly haven't been to any of them in like 10 years. IDK if things have changed, or if they've always been better than I thought and I just didn't catch fish back then because I didn't really know what I was doing.
  6. Is it an attitude thing, like bass fishermen don't want to be using something that's seen that's mainly for kids? Or is it just something about how the lure is presented that they don't like? Putting a soft plastic on a jig head under a slip bobber is one of the more popular ways to fish trout and panfish. I don't see why putting a using a bigger grub, a Fluke Jr. or even a wacky rigged Senko couldn't catch fish hanging around docks or drop-offs.
  7. Will there be a difference in pattern on the same fish between summer and winter? I haven't caught enough bass in enough seasons to make any real conclusion, but it seems like winter bass will be dark and have a defined pattern with dark and light green fading to white while summer bass in the same area are just a solid green/gold. Winter bass: Summer bass: Dinks always seem to have the most defined pattern too. I guess because they haven't been around long enough to fade.
  8. IDK what it is if it's just a weird reaction between the different plastics or something, but these things tend to melt if I leave them on my lures when putting them back in the Plano. It's especially bad with classic Senkos.
  9. I'm putting together an ultralight to fling small jigs, grubs, inlines, and maybe jerkbaits for crappie, trout, and the occasional dink/finesse bass. My idea is to buy 7 foot Fenwick Eagle and a 3000 Pfluger President, put the President on my bass rod, and move its cheapo Speed Spin to the Eagle. Only downside I'm aware of is that it'll take a crap ton of line to fill the spool up, but that's solved by buying some crappy Walmart line to use as backing.
