Chickamauga fishing reports?
Is there anywhere on the internet that regularly posts them any more? I used to use this site, but they haven't updated since November. I just really care about water temperature and the stage of activity the fish are in that week.

Favorite finesse technique for shallow water Largemouth
Ned Rig and weightless flukes account for like 80% of my bass. I suck at power fishing.

How long to wait after stocking?
I'm going to start hitting ponds up for stocked rainbows this winter/spring. How many days after stocking should I attempt to fish? Will the shock of being added and changing water cause the fish to be lethargic for a few days? Does weather matter?

New backpack
I use a surplus MOLLE II Assault Pack. This is everything that fits in it with room to shove more if I wanted + MOLLE real-estate for pouches and crap. You'd probably have to do some digging on eBay or have a good local surplus store to get a decent deal on one anymore though.

What's a good ultralight line?
7'0 Fenwick Eagle with a Quantum Throttle 20 reel It's been about 55% bobber fishing both real and plastic worms for panfish and 45% working small lures and the Ned Rig for panfish and shallow >2.5lb bass. Wanting to also start fishing for stockie rainbows too.

What's a good ultralight line?
I started out with 8lb Power Pro and it didn't cast very well and it was annoyingly too thin to deal with, switched to 5 pound P-Line and it manages well on the spool but it's so limp and limber it also makes tieing knots and threading bobbers annoying. Is that just something I'm going to have to learn to live with and git good at? Would switching to regular fluro or mono be a good idea?

I was wrong about that drum I posted several pages ago. It wasn't the first one I caught on a lipless. Just remembered I caught this little guy like 3 years ago.

Ever catch a bass this way?
I foul hooked a little 1.5 pounder in the side with an X-Rap once. Best I can think of what happened was that it swam up to investigate when it was suspending and I stuck it in the side with both trebles when I jerked the lure again. Only real weird catch I've had.

Is this a spotted bass? When I caught it, it looked like a largemouth to me and was in an area where I was catching mostly largemouth. But after reviewing the picture, it looks alot more like a spot. I still suck at telling the difference.

Caught a drum on a One-Knocker which is a first. Hit it like a freight train, thought I actually had a quality bass until it started diving.

Will Elaztech have a bad reaction with dyes?
Can I dip my Zman plastics into some Spike-it or JJ's without some crazy chemical reaction taking place?

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Intended to just get Ned Rigging gear, but then filled the other half of my cart with random crap to get free shipping.

The Elk down river of the dam is a pretty good fishery. You're not gonna be hitting very many largemouth though, mostly smallmouth and walleyes.

Roboworm Ned Worms
Anyone use these instead of TRDs? They way I store bait makes anything Elaztech a bad idea.

Can you get snakeheads that far up the Potomac?

Do Peacocks Count??
Do Peacocks have teeth? I always see people grab them with lippers.

How long after cold fronts blow in does the bite turn back on?
I haven't fished in about a month because it's been too hot, and I was wanting to hit a local public pond sometime this week since it's cooled down a bit. Problem is, it's cooled down because a cold front has blown in a dumped a ton of rain over the past few days. So what would give here? Would the bass be more active because of the cooler weather, or will they get tight-lipped and lazy because the pressure change and all of the other stuff that cold fronts bring? Should I go the first day without rain, or wait a few days?

Could I Ned Rig with my ultralight?
I got 3 rods right now and I'm not planning on buying any more for a good while: *A 7 foot UL/Moderate 2-piece Fenwick Eagle with 5lb P-Line, that's normally used for soaking worms and jigs for bluegill *A 6'6 M/XF 1-piece Lews Speed Stick with an empty reel that I'm probably gonna put 20lb braid on, use as a texas rigs / weightless plastics rod *A 6'6 M/F 2-piece Diawa Fuego with 15lb braid and normally a 10lb fluoro leader, use as a hard baits rod I'm wanting to get into Ned rigging, but I don't wanna bother constantly messing around with setups for one technique. The closest thing to what most people use that I have is the Fenwick, but I'm concerned that it's too wimpy and doesn't have the backbone for good hooksets. Or what if I'd just tie a light line leader on one of my braid rods and use it?

cutting hooks
I always just use one of my Leathermans. I got a million of 'em.

How well does trout hit the non-inline spinnerbaits?
I've caught a few on Beetle Spins, but they've all been stocked pond Rainbows. IDK how it'd work for native Brookies

Noisy soft plastic jerkbait
Pretty sure you can do it with GrandeBass' Airtail line. I don't have any rattles, so I've never done it. Hell, I'm not sure if I've ever actually used these things period.
-
Backing Line?
I just use 8lb trilene and a double uni for everything. If you have 10% more main line than you can cast, you'll never dig into your backing unless you hook a Jeremy Wade-tier carp or catfish. Especially with 50lb braid.

I didn't even know WVU had a fishing team. Is it an actual NCAA sponsored thing, or is it more of a club? Where do y'all practice at? Cheat Lake?

Paddle board fishing
Storage is often an issue. I can fit a 12-foot kayak on my property because I can just hang it on j-hooks bolted to the wall. A bass raider + trailer + accessories would be a bit more difficult.
