What has a smallmouth puked up for you?
Is this something that's more common among smallmouth? I almost never see largemouth throw up anything.
-
Pink trick worm
I never even really considered buying anything pink for bass. For some reason, I stereotype it as a trout color.

Livetarget Hollowbody Craw
Anyone heard of / used these things? Randomly went on TW and saw them featured and thought they looked pretty neat.

What should I look for in good smallmouth water?
Wanting to get into river fishing for smallies, not expecting any giants because I don't think my most local river is a very healthy fishery, but catching under 2lb fish on an ultralight is enough to keep me entertained. What kind of depth, bottom composition, current, turbidity, and structure should I be looking for? The few places I have bank access to that I've looked so far at have are slow-moving with sandy bottoms without much in the way of obvious structure aside from a handful of shallow laydowns.

Sniper FC too much memory
I tried 7lb on a M/L setup, threw it on 2 different reels and had such awful issues with memory and line lay that I ending up junking it and using regular-ol' Trilene mono. I just don't think fluro and spinning gear get along period.

Dragonfly Lures
I think it's weird how you're so limited in terms of topwater insects considering how much of a fish's diet they account for at different times of the year. If you want to really match dragonflies, mayflies, or cicadas you're basically forced to take up fly fishing.

Do Jelly Worms float?
I have some Zman StreakZ that would probably work well as a minnow-style dropshot lure, but I was really looking for a worm. I'd also rather not buy ElaZtech unless theres a definite advantage to them because I have a hard enough time keeping them segregated from the rest of my plastics as is. Preferablys omething that's traditional plastic, good action without needing to be worked heavily, that floats, and has a fork or spade tail. I have some of these guys that float and work well as panfish / trout lures, I could get some in 6 inch that'd probably work.

Do Jelly Worms float?
Looking for a floating worm to mainly dropshot with. All of mine are salt-infused and sink.

WILL IT WORK
Should've seen if it was still in warranty first. I broke the tip off my UL Eagle pulling down a snag, sent it back to Fenwick, and they replaced it for no cost.

Finessing in low light
I like senkos, flukes, and Ned Rigs more than anything but I feel it'd be kind of worthless to throw them in low light since they're mainly visual lures. Am I right in this assumption? Should I only be using loud and annoying hardbaits like chatterbaits and topwaters? What about plastics with lots of appendages like lizards and brush hogs?

Anyone bought from FishUSA recently?
I placed an order for a random assortment of hooks and weights last Wednesday and it just today shipped out. That's absolutely unprecedented from them, every other order I've ever made there has always shipped out the next business day and is the exact reason why they've been my main source of fishing crap. Has anyone else experienced this? This is the first order they've made since they updated their website, which in my opinion is a complete downgrade in every way.

Rod/reel overboard
Only rod I've ever lost was an Ugly Stik with a 30 buck Gander Mtn. reel on it, so I wasn't super upset because it gave me a reason to upgrade. Last trip on the kayak, I came *this* close to dunking and/or snapping my brand new St. Croix Triumph on 3 seperate occasions, which I would've probably been tempted to go in after. Also lost a 150 dollar Leatherman which was absolutely devastating.

How to prevent bass from doing "The jump"?
That always bugs me, watch a pro use a Heavy baitcaster and 50lb braid to waterski a little 2lb bass back to the boat.

Shimano Nexave feeling "grindy" after a week of fishing
Is there a fishing reel-specific solvent, lube, and grease I should use, or can I just use my Hoppes 9 and lithium grease since that's what I have on hand? This is legit the first time I've ever actually had to service one of my reels.

Recommended Hook For 10” Ribbontails
So why straight-shank offset for worms instead of EWG? I use 4/0 Gama EWGs for basically everything weighted and never really feel like I've whiffed on anything.

Shimano Nexave feeling "grindy" after a week of fishing
Threw a 2500-sized one of these on a 6 foot M/L for throwing mostly wacky and ned rigs. Used it over a week. Only caught a handful of largemouth and spots all under 2.5 lbs, like 5 average-sized bluegills, and an 8ish lb channel cat that I broke off while pulling out of the water. I did also accidentally dunk it in the water a few times and set the accidently set the hook in a few rocks. It was buttery smooth when I first got it out of the box, but at the end of the week, I suddenly had much more difficulty starting the rod handle turn and I feel grinding while turning it. So what likely happened here? Did I break a gear tooth? Mess a bearing up? It is only a 3+1 reel. I'd rather try to crack it open and fix it myself, but I'd like to have a suspect of what's wrong with it before doing so.

Red Worms
Does Plum Apple even count as red? At least in flukes, it's more purplish, looks like a Junebug Candy or something. Also have never caught anything on these, despite catching a bunch on Green Pumpkin Magic, White, and White / Chart Tail.
-
Red Worms
My Red Shad Laminate Senkos were markedly less productive than Watermelon Candy in the same area and same conditions. Take that as you will.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
First bass over 4 pounds I've caught all year, also easily the darkest largemouth I've ever caught. Thought it was a smallmouth when I first saw a glimpse of it.

Cutting fishing line
Multitool knife. I probably have 500 bucks worth of Leathermans, I have to justify their cost somehow.

Wacky rigging with Zinkerz
How well do Z-man Zinzkerz work as wacky worms? Do they have the same nice shimmy and slow fall rate that Senkos do? I went 5 Senkos for 4 boated fish this morning and now I'm looking for something that'll actually last me.
-
What sized wacky hooks?
I haven't wacky rigged a whole lot, the few times I've attempted it it's been with 2/0 octopus hooks with either a 4 inch Roboworm Ned Worm or 5 inch Senko. Would that size be fine? What does everyone else use? I stick fish fine with those hooks when nose-hooking flukes, but for whatever reason I think they look too small with stick worms.

Where the hell do I find smallmouth on Chickamauga?
I haven't caught the first one on this lake. I've both read and heard that reservoir smallmouth tend to associate to rocky banks and points more so than vegetation, and fish these areas with mostly Ned Rigs and Flukes and only ever end up with spots.

Toad hooks
Chatterbait hooks are at least exposed though.

Toad hooks
I have a pack of Horny Toads I've never used except as chatterbait trailers, partly because my heaviest rods are both medium. Could a medium rod drive an Owner Beast centerlock?
