This reel was easy to disassemble but a pain to re assemble. The main gear has to fit inside the side plate cover first than you have to insert the shaft into that.

Don’t see anything visibly wrong with the threads.

Yeah that makes sense, I’ll just end up taking it apart and inspecting it.

As I tighten the star drag it feels rough not when I’m reeling.

I have a Lews hypermag baitcaster the older model not the newer one. When I tighten the star drag to the point where it’s almost tight it feels rough and not smooth. Any ideas what could be causing it? I have another one and it feels buttery smooth when I tighten the drag.

Haven’t been out fishing much but managed to catch a few over the course of a few days.

Can’t decide between the Dobyns Champion Extreme HP DX 744C or DX 745C. I’ll be fishing with mostly 3/8oz jigs with a trailer. Around some timber and vegetation.

Anyone have any experience with the new Tatula rods? Are the actions accurate? I’m looking to switch from dobyns to Daiwa. I need a bladed jig rod but not the glass version, preferably graphite. Texas rig and a jig/top water rod but mainly jig. Bladed jig 3/8oz and sometimes 1/2oz Texas rig 1/4 - 3/8oz Jigs 3/8oz mainly -1/2oz Topwater 3/8oz mainly

Anyone use the new Cashion Element Z2 rods?

Looking to get a new jig rod, particularly the Dobyns Champion XP 744C. Would this rod be good for pitching around light to moderate vegetation and near timber or should I go up in an extra power? 3/8oz jigs with straight braid.

Which rod would be best for Chatterbaits? Champion XP DC 735CB Glass or DC 736CB Glass. I Fish 3/8oz Chatterbaits 99 Percent of the time with monofilament, no braid. light to moderate vegetation.

Looking at the Dobyns xtasy series for a Texas rig rod. I fish in water less than 10ft deep usually with sparse to dense cover. Anywhere from 1/4oz to 3/8oz bullet weight. Would this rod work good for a Texas rig or am I over paying for what I need.

Did the first ever clean and lubrication of this reel the Lews speed spool series SS1HLA Baitcaster. This reel has never been cleaned in the 5-6 years I’ve owned it. I’m almost certain the Rulon drag washer is shot. Any idea where I can purchase a new one?

I just started working on my own reels and looking to get the proper Screwdrivers/flatheads. Can someone recommend the proper types for Lews baitcasters.

Is there really much of a difference between Fluro compared to copolymer? I plan to use it on my Chatterbait rod.

No the insert did not come out and nothing is loose, just the top part of the guide near the blank the epoxy separated from when it got bent, thanks for the help though.

This is the guide I was concerned about, so I could just get a 2 part epoxy and put a little dab on the top of the guide?

Dobyns Sierra micro series casting rod. The second guide from the reel and then another one a few guides up. And I didn’t notice them loose but I do a lot of bank fishing and track through the woods so could have got banged on a tree or something.

I got two rods that have bent guides, was able to bend them back. What can I put on the guides to adhere to the rod any special glue?
