I never fish with a leader but would like to. I have 40lb braid and a straight shank hook for Texas rig. Do I need to match diameter of braid for the leader?

How serious is surface rust on a lure? I had a bit of surface rust on the eyelet to blade on my jig, it came right off with warm water and some WD40. Can I throw it back in my tackle box with other lures or do I risk spreading it?

I know st croix powers are not accurate, but is the action of the rod pretty accurate?

I have some Owner #1 Oval split rings on my crank baits for the line tie. Are these too small? They are rated for 24 pounds. Should I use a #3 instead?

Is it ok to leave a paddle tail trailer on a chatterbait or a baby brush hog on a EWG. Or can this cause rust?

Just checked the rest of my spinner baits and buzzbaits and they are all rusted brand new. Definitely a issue.

I have a lews baitcaster and if I try and push the handle backwards it moves, not a lot but a noticeable amount. What could be causing this or is it normal?

When I try and adjust the spool tension knob on my lews speed spool LFS baitcaster my lure ether falls too fast or not at all can’t seem to fine tune it. I’ve never had this issue with any other reel. Any ideas why I’m experiencing this?

I’m interested in getting the Lews TP-1 Speed Stick IM8 Spinning Rod for Ned rig. It’s the 6’11 Drop shot Rod I’m looking at. It is a medium action rod rated for 1/8-3/8oz lures. Anyone that has this rod would I be able to use it for Ned rigs, is the tip soft enough?

So I bought a a 30 size spinning reel and was wondering if I can use it on a medium light rod or if it will be too big.

I’m new to swimbaits and I bought some Matt Allen 3/8oz swimbait jig heads and matched them with 4.8/4.3 and 3.8 Keitech fat impact swing paddle tails. I don’t fish that deep of water. As shallow as 3feet and max of maybe 8feet. Are these a good weight for my needs?
