  1. What is the reasoning behind this? Not calling you out or anything just genuinely curious.
  2. I have tungsten in a bunch of colors but mostly because I got them on sale at one point or another. The color doesn’t really matter. Rate of fall and depth have been mentioned but another factor in my choosing a weight is also current. Hard to keep a 1/16 or 1/8 ounce weight where you want it when the currents really going. So sometimes you need a little more to achieve what you’re trying to do.
  3. I had one in my box for like 2 months before I was finally able to bring myself to throw a $30 bait ? my my goodness I wish I had started throwing it sooner. It doesn’t matter that it’s big, I’ve caught largemouth smaller than the bait up to a 3.5 pounder so far. It’s so much fun. So far I’ve had the best success with a stop and go retrieve. When they’re biting it they just absolutely destroy it.
  4. I second this. That’s my favorite color way too.
  5. That little thing looks awesome! Just imagine turning that thing loose on your favorite pond/cove/river whatever. Cuts out all of your idling time. I bet it costs an arm and a leg though!
  6. This. I bought 3 this spring. No survivors. I fish cranks on rip rap a lot and it’s normally not a problem, but snapped the bills off all 3. Maybe I got a bad batch but I don’t know, I won’t be buying them again though. Strike King makes good deep divers for all depths in a variety of sizes and colors that are reasonably priced. I messed up and bought a few a Megabass cranks a couple months ago though, and I think I ruined it for myself and my wallet.
  7. This is a good idea. A simple one too that should have occurred to me lol. I’ll try it. I changed out all the trebles on all of them right after I got them. In the past I’ve really not liked R2S’s hooks, although these do seem a bit better.
  8. Also, I’ll take a fine sharpie and write it on the lure so I know at a quick glance. Also the depth a crankbait runs on them. No more guessing, have too many baits.
  9. I bought 4 of the 75s. Love them. Although I do have one of the bunch where I have to remember to keep my rod tip up or it will dip and roll some. No problems with the others. Might help you? Maybe it’s just that we’re buyung the first run of a product too and they’ll get it worked out.
  10. Earlier this spring I decided I needed a boat, but I have a wife and 3 kids so I lack the funds to drop one fiberglass bass boat. I found an older used 14’ aluminum boat, it’s 56” wide that came with a trolling motor but no batteries and no mount. Guy wanted to get rid of it so I got it for $300. With the trailer. I added seats, $8 a piece at Walmart, plastic deals. $15 each for swivels and another $10 each for the pedestals. I built a casting deck in the front, that cost me about $200. Added a tiller handle trolling motor in the back $250. Built a little box for the batteries in the back and hold a bunch of planos cost maybe another $50. Also painted the whole thing, plus registration another $150? Got a mount for the other trolling motor it came with from my uncle (lucky). But the biggest expense was the batteries and my graph. I have 5 batteries in total lol. That sounds ridiculous. But, paddle yourself back to the ramp one time and you’ll buy an extra for the back motor too. The front trolling motor is 24v so it takes 2 and then another to run all the electronics. I got a humminbird helix 5 side imaging in the back $500 and a smaller garmen 4” deal up front on the casting deck $100. Plus 5 batteries at $75-$100 a piece. But now I have a pretty darn sweet setup. I’m planning to add a motor of some kind. Hopefully 20-25hp after I save up some money this winter. Because the trolling motor only gets me 3.5 mph on a good day, chop slows me down lol. But I fish on Kentucky lake and I love it. Mostly I stick to the cove our camper is at, there’s a ramp in our campground, but the cove itself is the size of some small lakes. I’ve been on the main lake with it a few times but really if I want to hit a different part of the lake I’ll just drive to another ramp and out in there. I’ve loved it so far, sure beats bank fishing, and I recommend it for anyone just getting started with boats. Sorry for the long post, but I love my little boat and proud of what I’ve done with it. I’ll have to post pictures sometime.
  11. Mine are all mixed at the moment except for the last 2 I bought. I’ll be buying Dobyns rods and Daiwa reels from now on. I bought the first one of each after trying 7-8 others respectively and once I got on the water with them it just kind of clicked and it was like “oh, this is what I’ve been looking for.” Haha
  12. I finally broke down and bought a pair of Costas, love them. Should have pulled the trigger sooner. I Forget the name of the frames I got but they’re matte grey with the 580g lenses in mirror green. The difference between these and the many pairs of cheap polarized glasses I’ve had is amazing. The weight of the glass is worth it imo for the upgrade in optics. Couldn’t be happier.
  13. Black and blue is my favorite/go to color. Caught my pb about a month ago on a black and blue jig. Water clarity is always on the dirty side where I do most of my fishing though. If it’s clear/clearish meaning I can see 12” or more down I’ll switch to something in the green family. Reluctantly lol.
  14. Man I get nervous tying on my megabass lures. Lose an s-crank and I’m sick for a week lol. I haven’t even tried the $35 swimbait I got 2-3 weeks ago yet. More power to you tho, bigger stones than I. ?
  15. 6’10” Falcon mh/mf cranking rod.
  16. Lots of companies make them. I’m currently using some made by VMC I think. I really liked the owner ones but the hooks are too light and I kept bending them out.
  17. KY lake, I ALWAYS have a craw or craw like creature t-rigged and on the deck ready to go. My number 1 confidence bait. You don’t see them super often but there’s craws all in the lake. Not that I think it really matters that much. Senkos I pretty much only fish wacky/neko anymore.
  18. Thanks boss. Off to the TWRA website to look up the regs.
  19. Ok. Well that’s good to know lol. What size/how many arms would you start with? Also, are they not a giant pain to cast or is that just a bad assumption I made from the look of them?
  20. Hahaha I did that once too. Just kept sailing. I got mine back though. No love for powder? I have probably 10 different colors in various sizes and the 110 in powder has been my best producer. However I’ve been throwing the 75 in loon lately and really like it. The 75s are pretty great so far.
  21. Ok I’ve been thinking about it lately. I don’t own an A-rig. I’ve never fished one. Am I missing out terribly or what? They’ve just always looked like they’d be super clumsy and cumbersome to cast and whatnot. If I am missing out, I’ll get one. What are the conditions ideally to be throwing one of these things?
