  1. The legend tourneys are awesome. I haven’t gotten to spend a lot of time with them yet but I’m impressed. Definitely worth the extra $80 or so compared to an E6x. The build quality is outrageously nice.
  2. Man maybe my mojo rod is just the model. I love my E6x rods though. All casting, I have the 7’ mh/fast mag bass, 7’1” mh/xf jig and worm rod, and 7’5” h/f jig worm rod in the E6x and I really like them. They were a big step up in sensitivity from my dobyns fury rods. The mojo bass bass rod I have is a 6’8” m/xf spinning rod and it’s really not so much that I don’t like it, but I have a similar Shimano Curado spinning rod that I really like and I use it for most of the same techniques I would use the mojo for. I’ll probably end up selling it, decent stick just doesn’t see a lot of work. I have nothing against St. Croix rods, quite the opposite, I have 2 from the Legend Tournament series that I absolutely love. Those are some sweet rods. The mojo just never really wowed me.
  3. Once you try braid on your spinning gear you’ll never turn back. I’d go with either 10# or 15#. My dropshot rod has 10 my weightless plastics/everything else finesse rod has 15. The convenience of switching leader size according to what your doing and the castability of braid alone are worth it. Not to mention if you go with a bright color it makes visually identifying those super light bites so easy.
  4. I’m more of a Daiwa fanboy than anything. That said, I own a bunch of both Shimano and Daiwa reels including the slx and a tatula 150. I like both but the slx is smaller and more comfortable, I’d assume the 100 would be about the same. The tatulas are nice reels, the sv models are really really nice. But between the two you’re looking at I’d go with the slx, it’s a really really nice real for the price point. I have two, one is on a 733 the other on a 735 and they feel like they were made for each other.
  5. I bought these storage containers from Walmart for like $2-$3 a piece that are just the perfect size to store plastics in their original bags. I have way too many in my little boat but it’s an easy way to keep them organized. I just write on the top in sharpee what’s inside. Look in the container aisle that’s by the cookwares and house stuff.
  6. Second the Jackall Kaera, also the bigger Jackall gavacho popping frog.
  7. No metanium but I do own both chronarch mgls and curado ks. In my opinion it’s worth the extra money for the chronarch. Just feels like a much nicer reel and they are oh so smooth.
  8. I used the 12” mag buzz worm this summer on Kentucky lake. It was excellent, I like them very much. Especially the plum type color.
  9. A problem that didn’t exist. They sure are pushing this thing hard though aren’t they? VMC wants all the monies.
  10. I have a mole on my face next to my left eye that’s a little larger than the end of a pencil eraser. I’ve been told that it could become cancerous if I get too much sun on it so I’ve worn a hat outside 95% of my life. So I wear a buff and then a hat and my Costas. It seems to do the trick. Sometimes it’s a flatbill, the bills on them seem a little larger than normal hats, but most of my fishing hats are mesh backed. That all being said, I’m only 32 and I guess I’m still pretty vein, because I can’t bring myself to wear a full brimmed hat like y’all have posted. My mom buys me one every year without fail and reminds me about the sun and my mole.
  11. I have a big ol noggin, and the bill on trucker hats umis usually smaller and looks odd on me. I opt for a fitted flat bill hat when I can.
  12. White python and black orochi popmax aren’t just pretty, they both produce too.
  13. I do t know if you’re looking for shallow or deeper. I grabbed a couple strike king lucky shads on Black Friday as an impulse buy. Only fished it once but so far I like it. They run 6-8 feet.
  14. LTBSAVESQ1 , try that. Still working for me.
  15. Back off your drag a bit maybe?
  16. The missile baits Ike mini flip jig skips really nice. It’s not flat but a rounded head and I can get them all up under docks and whatnot wherever I need to. Also, it doesn’t have the “lions mane” or “spider” cut skirt like most finesse jigs do so that helps too. Also, they’re just all around well made jigs with nice sturdy hooks in them.
  17. I have that charger. It’s the best purchase I’ve made so far for the boat.
  18. Holy wow! What do you do, use it as a club and beat them over the head with it? ?
  19. Yeah I’ve never really thrown them either, however I’ve never really fished all winter before either. As I plan to this year I figured I better stock up on some of the so called “cold water” baits.
  20. I have a 14 foot aluminum vhull that I run all electric. I built a deck in it and seats and storage. It’s been really awesome so far. I have 5 batteries in it tho so it’s trailered. 2 for the trolling motor. 2 for the transom motor, it’s a 12 volt but running out of juice half way across the lake is no fun. And then the other battery powers all my electronics, I have a sonar unit at the drivers seat and one on the casting deck as well as an outlet to plug in your phone or whatever you might need. I take it out on kentucky lake all all the time and it’s just fine. It’s also great taking it to the all electric lakes around here too, those guys look at me like I’m crazy. Ive has a couple different motors on the transom but the latest one I’ve gotten I can get to 4.5 mph on slick calm water. So I can get where I want to go it might just take me a minute to get there. But it’s much better than the snails pace of 2mph my first motor got me.
  21. KVD flat 1.5. I just bought a couple of these during the Black Friday sales to give a try.
  22. The tiny inline spinners have been best for the sunfish and bream in our lake. I’ve taken my boys many times and tried crappie jigs and all sorts of other artificials as well as live night crawlers. Nothing beats live worms when you get into a whole mess of them, pulling them out cast after cast. But a worms no fun for a 4 year old or an 11 year old when the bites a little tougher. So if you’re not on a whole bunch of fish the in-line spinner is the way to go, you can catch pretty much any species on them too which is a bonus.
  23. If the water is chocolate milk, I’d go with the underspin for sure.
  24. I use this Plano wrap for my jigs. I ran out of room, probably 40-50 finesse jigs and about the same maybe a little less full size casting/flipping/football jigs. So around a hundred total fit great and there’s still room for a-rigs and other stuff in the bottom pocket. It’s actually really huge when you open it all the way up but folds down really small and flat. Has worked awesome for me and saved me a ton of room in my boat which is tiny so every little bit of storage counts. All the pockets are ventilated on the back side too so stuff dries out quickly and I haven’t had any rust issues since I started using it. Highly recommended at less than $15. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Plano_Z-Series_Lure_Wrap/descpage-PZWR.html?from=basres
  25. This is exactly how I have mine stored in my little boat. Works great and very cheap.
