Strike King Rage Tails are the STUFF!
Wouldn't it be neat if Rage Tail had it's own forum on here like Shimano used too. There are so many posts about these great baits that they deserve their own place.

rubber worm types
I agree with the Power Worms, most productive bait I have ever fished.

Popper size for average Bass ?
When I know the waters I am fishing has a lot of small bass I stay with baits 2 to 3 inches long. Some days you can catch a ton of smaller bass that way.

Rage Tail!!!!
Thanks Big O and Shane. Looks like I need to try a heavier hook, I have been using the 4/0 twist lock but I guess that is not heavy enough. I am going to stay with it until I figure it out.

Pink Or Red trick Worms?
Sounds like an ice cream store.

The Jitterbug - an epiphany
That is exactly right Catt, it's the rhythm that makes that bait work, I can't explain it, but you will know it when it happens.

The Jitterbug - an epiphany
Don't feel too bad about that. I have been at it for about 60 years and some days I forget to unhook the boat before I put the trailer in the water. :-[ Love those Jitterbugs and I just give them a straight retrieve.

Rage Tail!!!!
if it's not running right, you need to fix the way it's hooked. I am sure you are right but I just can't figure it out. First lure that has ever stumped me. I tried to fish it weightless just under the surface this spring, but any movement at all made it spin. I want to use it c rigged but not until I can see it is running right. I have looked at the Rage Tail site and followed all of the directions, but no go.

Rage Tail. Epic Fail.
Why do we go on so about Rage Tail products?

Rage Tail!!!!
I am still trying to get the Eeliminator to run right. Thought I had it, but I am still having problems. Love the action when it is right and I know it will catch bass. Just got to keep working at it I guess.

Your thoughts on scent
I am very careful about insect repellent and sun screen and that is about all. Some say you don't need to be. Salmon and trout may be fish that are a lot more sensitive to smell than bass.

Your thoughts on scent
This sure has been discussed before and your are going to get a ton of differing opinions. I don't think bass use their sense of smell as some fish do to find prey, and I don't believe there are a whole lot of repugnant odors to a bass and therefore it is not necessary to cover up odors. I do believe it has everything to do about taste. If a bait taste good a bass it will hold it longer. I do use scented baits such as Power Baits and sometimes I will use a scent product. I think it is just one of those deals that if you have confidence in it you will use it. And now I am sure someone who understands it all better than I do will give you a more detailed explanation

I need some new clothes...
Boy I gotta get in the loop. Are you guys serious? You can actually put clothes on to keep yourself cool? When I get hot I strip down to shorts. Do these things really work?

Best wooden cranks?
The Rapala wood baits are great and so are the old Bagleys. I don't think the new ones are guite as good.

To those that Flick Shake...
How does this technique differ from the shakey head ?

Finding the right lure/color
I think I would try some poppers when the light is low, sounds like the perfect place for it.

Rage Tail. Epic Fail.
I think if we look at the topic about worst baits you ever used you will see that everybody doesn't like something. Some of the best baits I ever used were useless to some in that thread.

Rage Tail. Epic Fail.
The Rage Tails are no better or worse than any other plastic bait I have used. I certainly have not given up on them, but they are not magic either. And they are pricey and a little too big for this area. But, Big O has some neat ideas.

Whats your current go to bait?
Berkley Power worm any size.

Fav Walk the Dog lure?
I have been using one from Norman some this year. I think it is called the Top Dollar. It sits low in the water and looks a little like a shad. Has a nice walking action also.

10 mistakes amateur anglers make
Fishing presents an opportunity to make a different mistake every day. Conditions change and that is about the only thing you can really rely on. After many, many years of fishing I still make bad decisions at times and on the ride home I think about what I coulda or shoulda done. That is the mental part of our sport and one reason why we love it so much.

yum dancin eel, anyone try them?????
This is a soft plastic lure and needs to be fished that way. The action is similar to the Eeliminator which is also a lure that is difficult to make run true but is worth the effort. I guess it is just a lure that people love to hate, but I have done well with it over the years.

casting accuracy?
Thanks for explaining that. Do you use a very small diameter line? Or does the test of the line come into play according to the rules? And does say mono cast better than flouro or a hybrid?
-
casting accuracy?
Catt I have been pulling your leg a little with some of this, but I am curious now. You say the reel of choice is a wide spool ABU 6500? If I remember right those are a pretty big reel. Why would they be better than a smaller narrow spool reel? And why not use the ABU Record, or is it the same as the 6500 reel?

What baits do you throw on really windy days?
I second the c rig.
