  1. I just picked up this rod and I just have to say...wow! What an awesome rod and for like $25, the cork is great. I U-40 sealed it and the rod looks/feels awesome. Does anyone else own this rod and if so what do you use it for? I have to be honest, as a rod and reel snob/snoob, I was not expecting much from this but have been blown away with the quality for the price (this model should be priced much more beyond this price-point for what I see with this particular rod). I can't speak for other models (aside from the 5'6" which is nice too (got for $18)) but this rod is a great bargain if you can find one. Just passing this along. Best wishes on the water!
  2. Any ideas what would be a good BFS rod for an Alpha Air? Thanks!
  3. Agreed. If you look at the Revros spinnings combo, the reel knobs are different with the combos versus buying the actual models separately.
  4. I saw Daiwa Cronos 7' ML casting rods for $85 and free shipping. Ordered two.
  5. Did both promos work for Overton's?
  6. Swimbait...not swimsuit! Wow! Autocorrect...
  7. I go through phases of what is my favorite. This year, the jerkbait bite in April and May was awesome. Now, Ned's and DS are the go to. Deep cranks are always a must in lakes that I fish as are jigs. A few years back, my fishing partner and I crushed them on good old fashioned 3" black mister twisters in the fall. Spinnerbaits are also awesome but I find myself fishing them less and senkos even moreso. It's funny to think, but something that I wouldn't consider this year might be the next hottest thing and shut off as fast as it started. Best wishes on the water!
  8. Just buy a few Roman Made swimsuits and $20 for a chatterbait is nothing!
  9. I picked up three baits, a Bagley DB-3, Poe's RC3, and Poe's 300 in some nice colors. Does anyone know the proper name/color code for these baits? Are they worth anything? Poe's used to be pretty popular in the 80s/90s but had some durability issues and Bagley's are just classics!
  10. Daiwa Tatula 701MLRB Daiwa SV103H 10lb. test line
  11. Does anyone know the back handle length?
  12. I picked up a Powell 3D Max Casting rod (7'2" MH) for $70 the other day on closeout at Field and Stream.
  13. Still trying and still hopeful.
  14. Any other help would be great...this is a gem of a reel!
  15. I need some help and maybe some advice as to what to do… A little over a month ago, I contacted a seller on here who was selling a rod. He accepted my offer for the model he was selling (selling because of some health concerns) and I sent him payment in the form of a check for the agreed amount. I sent the check actually to his father as he asked because of a particular circumstance he was in at the time needing surgery and not being at home. His father who is an older gentlemen deposited the check on his behalf and the rod arrived to me on June 7th damaged from USPS with about 6” of tip broken off in an open cardboard tube. I contacted the seller and spoke with him and he told me to reject the delivery from the post office and to send the rod back to him (he is the original owner) and he would remedy the situation. The post office marked it rejected and I actually put the person at the post office on the phone with him to speak about what to do. The rod arrived back to him safely and he contacted the rod company about a warranty replacement (as per their no questions asked policy). He assured me that a new rod was on the way and he would resend it back to me. He kept in contact with me until last week when he said he shipped the rod out to me. Since then, (6/27/18), I have attempted to call, text, and email this person after communication cut off. Could it be that he got a new rod back and decided just to keep it and my payment? That would be awful if so. I know I should use PayPal but have bought and sold so many items on here and other places using checks and money orders and this is my first issue in hundreds of transactions. What can/should I do? I hope he doesn’t have further health concerns and that is why he isn’t in contact, but at the same time, when he texted me that it shipped UPS last Wednesday, I should no doubt have the rod by now. Any help/advice would be great. Thank you and best wishes on the water!
  16. I have two. One 6'9" ML spinning that I use and one that I got on closeout as a backup that still has its tags and plastic bag sleeve. Was just down your way today to Philipsburg to take the kids to the life sized Thomas the Train. Any parent here would understand the mass chaos of this real live train event. LOL.
  17. Is it a solid or tubular tip on that rod?
  18. What techniques are you using the Seth rod for? I have the Cronos version of his rod.
  19. $12 per fish to stock so I imagine that was expensive. They said they are slowly but surely clearing the lake up nicely. Now I see why they built the new dam with fencing at the spillway.
  20. Talked to one of the folks that lives on the lake and found my answer...triploid grass carp! They are sterile and were put in a few years ago to maintain vegetation.
  21. Yeah...Aldebarans for $109.99...sure! Looks sketchy to me...
