  1. I have the following items for sale: Team Daiwa TD-Z A.O.I. handle with retainer and screw. They only made a few hundred of these and very rarely do you see parts available for them. I hate to let this one go but now is the time. Daiwa T3 star drag wheel. Daiwa SV103 spool. This spool has a slight dent in rim and the inductor spins. I am sure the guys at TTT could fix it up and/or if you could if you are good with that stuff. I would like to sell everything together if possible. Check or money order preferred. $165 shipped to your door OBO. Pictures are available upon request. Thank you!
  2. Love those SV103's!!!
  3. I picked up a very clean, almost new MBR GLX 783C today with the Fuji ECS gunsmoke colored reel seat. When did these go out of production? Was in when they introduced the BCR series with the recoils? What should/would one of these rods retail for and what are they worth now. Just paired mine up with a TD-Z 105H and it seems really nice! Thanks and best wishes on the water!
  4. What rod is that? I would get a new one. That is a lot of filler.
  5. My only thought was because the water was so shallow, I was thinking channel cats simply because the football shape of the carp would be more apparent. I wish I was in a boat or kayak with polarized sunglasses to find out. It seems odd that a pond that small would have carp in it. But it also could have been Jaws or Bigfoot as other members have suggested. I should have thrown some Jack Links at them and waited to see what happened!
  6. The other day/evening I was fishing a smaller lake close to me and was casting a 110 Whopper Plopper. At one location near some lily pads among the thicker weedy areas (most of the lake is thicker/clumpy weeds and stumps), I saw what looked like either a tail (top section) or dorsal fin cruising through the shallows. There were more than one so I casted near the area and the water erupted and the fish took off with a "V" on the water. In a few minutes, they were back. Were they carp? I would think if so, I would see more of the body or "shoulders" of the fish since the water couldn't be more than a foot deep in that spot. Could they be catfish and that is the dorsal fin that I was seeing? I even thought Muskie or something but with that Whopper Plopper, if they were Muskie, I figured they would have crushed it. Any help would be appreciated. Again, it's a smaller pond/lake that is typically filled with panfish, pickerel, and bass.
  7. What outfit do you use for it?
  8. How do you like that FMJ and what do you use it for besides jigs? Thanks! It would look really nice. I was thinking of a Scorpion 70 for my 7'2" Poison Adrena.
  9. I have been contemplating using casting gear again for drop shop in the 1000 Islands in New York since many of the weights are 1/2-5/8oz in deep water. Was thinking about using a longer rod for it as well. 7'3" - 7'7" medium power with 8-10lb. line. Any thoughts? Thanks!
  10. Where are you located...how far from let's say Lake Wallenpaupack? Thanks!
  11. So just thumb it rather than replace the brake pads? Thanks!
  12. When I get home I might first try the brakes. The older brown colored ones seem to fall right off the pins when I take the side plate off. Could that simply be the issue?
  13. One of my Abu Garcia round reels that hasn't seen much use lately was just spooled up and casted and it started to "scream" at me. Here is what it sounded like: Any ideas? Thanks!
  14. Don Iovino did use these rods quite a bit if I am not mistaken. He had a 2500C or a 3500C on them. I think there is even a YouTube video called "The Good Ol' Boys" that shows him explaining his "doodling" technique using them.
  15. Return it for a new one.
  16. The 103H is simply the SV103 in the 6.3:1 gear ratio. The 103XS is a 7.9:1 ratio. The SS SV103 came in 5.5, 6.3, 7.3, and they made a 105 in 8.1. The SV103H is suited for power fishing and finesse stuff because of the SV spool. I use mine and can cast 1/8oz. jighead with a grub or boot tail without a problem. I have mine on a Tatula 7" ML Regular casting rod.
  17. The SV103H (6.3:1) and SV103XS (7.9:1) are based off of the original Zillion aluminum frame which was based off of the TD-Z/original Fuego frame. The SV103 uses a 34mm spool, has brass gears, and has endless options (spools) with options of customization based both off the TD-Z and Zillion parts. The SS SV103 came in a few different gear ratios and is based off of the Steez with a slightly different noseplate that now mimicks the SV Light reels in Japan. The SS SV has aluminum gears. This reel also accepts the 34mm spools so it has a variety of options as well as customizable parts from the Steez, etc. Yes, it can be viewed as overbraked but a quick spool change can eliminate that. Both are nice reels but both are very different. I own and use both for different techniques.
  18. Top and bottom are lefty SV103H reels. The middle looks like a Tatula CT lefty.
  19. Are they Phenix Boron rods? I just picked up a Fenwick Boron X pistol grip (6' Medium) and wonder it's worth.
  20. Back around Memorial Day of 2007, I lost basically a brand new Team Daiwa TD-X 103HSD with a 6'6" TD-S green rod over the boat at a local lake not too far from me in about 15 feet of water. I jumped in after it in jeans and the water was only in the 60s. Swam down into murk and never found it. I got so desperate that I got out of the boat soaking wet and randomly knocked on the door of people in their homes along that shoreline asking to borrow goggles. They must have thought I was truly crazy standing on their front porch panicked over the rod/reel and soaking wet in jeans!
