  1. And that reel is now mine! Thank you! I read your post last night and called them right before they closed and they put it on hold for me. I took the braid that was on it off and am going to put monofilament on it. It’s in really nice shape. Thank you!
  2. Thank you! This is what I was looking for! Now I have to wonder if I should order more 110s or get some Ito Shiners!
  3. I hope the reel isn't a rebadged Doyo reel. I got my Fuego CT from Cabela's a few weeks ago for $69 and that reel is awesome. I am sure these will be had for under $50 eventually but hope they are made in house by Daiwa and not outsourced to some OEM.
  4. Sorry about the slip up...my bad. Hopefully the mods see it and automatically move it if possible. Thank you!
  5. Can anyone elaborate on these two colors and how they look compared to each other. How are they in slightly stained water? Thanks!
  6. I have a question. If I edit one of my personal messages from my inbox on here to include an additional statement/re-word after it has been read by them, does that automatically update the conversation on the site of the recipient to the new/correct one? Thank you!
  7. I love the spool...not sure what to compare it to but it has a fixed inductor and is very hard to backlash. I get great distance out of it with a lot of control. I guess it could be compared to some version of the SV series but not sure which (maybe Zillion TWS SV). ZPI just released newer versions of this spool and they are like $140. I think I got a deal with this already being in the reel.
  8. What is this reel? https://www.americanlegacyfishing.com/daiwa-cg80-lt-baitcasting-reels.html
  9. This classic showed up today and it came with the ZPI GP-R spool!
  10. If you look at CV-Z 103 JDM and other varieties of the JDM (105, 203, 205), they used to be quite popular. In fact, many versions of the 103 have been made including the M-Ito, Ringa, Light, Bay Special, etc.
  11. Yep...you got a good deal! Those CVZ reels go for about $150 in that shape (maybe a little more) and the GLX is older with the Wiebe reel seat. That's a nice setup but the reel may be a little wide and large for that rod.
  12. Yours clicks as it is reeled in as well when the lever is pushed forward? I wonder why they do that...I have never seen one that did that before. But yes, they are built like a tank and very nice. The one I got is made in Japan (got it at a fishing show I was at locally) so I don't know if that is current or a few years old. It's basically brand new in box though.
  13. Does anyone use these? Or do you have them for your kids? How are they? I tried one today and I experienced two different retrieve styles/sounds. With the lever that controls the back reeling pushed "up" toward the gold reel cover, the retrieve had a clicking retrieve similar to the sound of a clicking drag being pulled out. With the back reeling on, or the lever being pulled back towards the rear of the reel, the retrieve was silent. Both retrieves recovered line the same. Is that normal for these reels? Thanks for your help.
  14. Any info on a Fenwick Boron X pistol grip from the early 80s?
  15. I picked up a second one last night (my first I ordered last week) and looks like this morning they are sold out. I may get two sets of gears for the higher speed ratio just to have in case I ever want to convert them, but after thinking about it, the 23.5" IPT (while not fast) is still the same as the old Sol, very similar to if not almost identical IPT to the Curado/Chronarch 50E, and Scorpion 1000XT. Is the gold on the P more of a champagne gold color as it looks lighter in the picture? Thanks and best wishes on the water!
  16. Does anyone have any experience with the Daiwa Fuego series of rods as a backup budget rod? I looked at the 73MH and I came across one for $45 shipped and snatched it in hopes that it is decent for the price. Not expecting much but that's basically 40% off its normal price. Any input on these rods would be great. Thank you!
  17. This was a good decision! You'll love the reel! And for what you got it for, you got a STEAL!
  18. What are you using as a shad rod for the Delaware? Anyone using a noodle rod to launch darts/flutter spoons out there? If so, what kind? Thanks and best wishes on the water!
  19. A reel like that will hold its value as NIB and in the future, depending on the market, you could get what you paid for it so long as you didn't overpay but too much. There are some varieties that command a higher value as mentioned but having an NIB TD-Z is always a nice option if you plan on hanging onto it. I have a few NIB varieties myself including two NIB TD-Z 103 Ito's, a TD-Z 103H Type R, and a custom made TD-Z 105H/Ito hybrid with custom SLP parts (and others) and a Steez 103SHA spool in it. I also have some NIB/LNIB Megabass reels and a NIB Steez Limited 105XH. I love collecting reels as well.
  20. I shipped two rods yesterday in the same Cabela's cardboard plastic capped tube. Tube length was about 90 +/- ". Shipped from PA to IN it was Priority 2 Day for $13.50. Added insurance and it came out to $18.00 even. And it will be there before the end of the week. Not sure why these places are charging you so much money.
  21. I agree...I have quite a few reels and was/am a Shimano guy for many years but currently most of my reels are Daiwa reels. In the mid-range (and especially buying used but like new), you can find some gems. I have 10 Daiwa SV103 reels that I got all for mid-range price and they are truly the best bang for the buck I can currently think of.
  22. Does anyone use this reel for larger baits or swimbaits? They seem to be around since about 1999 or so but I don't hear really anything about them. Thanks and let me know!
  23. I have a Luvias 3012H that I got for that same price last year...it is the nicest spinning reel I own aside from the Sterling Silver Tatula LT and then the Ci4+. The drag is butter smooth and I like the larger spool on the 3012H for less line twist and throwing lighter baits. It's on a 7'6" Cronos M/ML XF.
