  1. I set the hook for all my lure and hooks. I recommend still setting the hook with the wacky rig and a circle hook.
  2. I use to carry a backpack with 8 Plano Boxes, tons of soft plastics and four rods. After a couple of outing, I decided it was time to just pack the essentials... I'm starting to use the same thing this year, just a small backpack with a 3400 Plano box, a small scale, pliers, some soft plastics, and two rods. Everything you need for a great day of fishing!
  3. I have never thought of this before but, isn't it dangerous using braid that let's say could be 50lbs? If there is a boat or some guy on a ski jet, and you don't see them and cast, cant the line gets tangled with the boat/motor? or the person in it? isn't it possible someone could get killed? or if you get snagged and try to pull the lure out and the lure comes flying back? will it break rods? or am I just paranoid?
  4. Great Advice! I was fishing last week and I missed at least 10 bass on the hookset. I was fishing a fluke and those 1 pound bass were killing (some hit it topwater) it but, I kept missing the hook set, so I only ended up catching only one bass... ?
  5. I don't know why anybody would ever quit fishing, it is literally the best thing to do. They might just quit cause they don't catch anything or they don't like being outside. I don't really know anyone that has quit fishing, but I once went to a yard sale with a guy in his mid 70's which was selling his stuff because he was now too old to fish.
  6. I caught a 24-foot pickerel, 8-foot bass, some 10-foot pumpkin seed, while I was using a 2-foot BPS Speedshad. ? (Thanks, I'm just dumb)
  7. I had the best day of fishing I have had since last year. Went out for around 2 hours, caught around 40-ish bluegills, 10 pumpkin seed, 13 black crappies, an 24" pickerel, and two bass, one 8" the other at least a pound. (catch & release) Not a good day of fishing for most people, but a great day for me since the fishing here has been really tough. Caught all the sunfish with a 1/32oz trout magnet. The pumpkin seed were all at least 10", caught the pickerel on a small 1/8oz jig head with a 2" BPS speed shad. I caught them all at a new pond which is now my favorite, Mill Pond in Nashua, NH.
  8. I think the further the cast the better, for shore fishing.
  9. I just went to Mill Pond in Mines Falls yesterday and had a TON of bites on a ZOOM fluke in Alabama Shiner color in the original size. I hooked a ton but most of them popped off right at the bank, also got some crappie and pickerel. I was fishing it with a 4/0 EWG Red Owner hook Belly weighted, quickly and twitching it near cover.
  10. Hello, I really need help with this new lake I will be fishing for this weekend. I have never fished this lake and wondering if anyone ever has on here. The lake is Otter Lake in Greenfield, New Hamshire. Anyone know if the fish there are spawning and if the lake has a rocky bottom etc... What baits should I use for a lake like this? https://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/maps/bathymetry/otter_greenfield.pdf Any help is greatly appreciated, Martin Sierra
  11. Welcome to the forum and Bass Resource! @MissouriJacob
  12. I remember getting the picture from a post on Instagram but it said the source was unknown, but why would you want one, and is it even allowed?
  13. Went fishing on Wednesday on the Nashua River Dam, caught some crappie, and got a bass bite on a white spinnerbait. Caught the crappies on a 4-inch finesse worm, Neko rigged. Went fishing in Nashua River near the downtown on Saturday for 2 hours, pretty windy, no bites... Not even on the Spinnerbait.
  14. A carp load of bug spray... And long pants, long socks, and hiking boots.
  15. If someone is in your spot, just take out this bad boy... I introduce to you the EZ-Cutter, it has a sleek weedless design, which will cut all their line so they will need to rig back up as you are still fishing! (Please don't really use this) Tight Lines, Martin Sierra
  16. Hello, Just wondering what was the most expensive lure that you have ever bought, and if you have lost it? Martin
  17. I own like 15 crankbaits but never caught my first one on them... Only thrown them a couple of times.
  18. Hello, have any of you heard or bought anything from Fishing Care Package and if you bought it, what did you think of it? Did you buy it from the Flash Sale that they have? Thanks, Martin Sierra
  19. Hello yall, Just a very simple question about this (match made in heaven) paired jig with its trailer... Should I move the craw trailer a bit more up? Thanks in advance, Martin Sierra If anyone is wondering, its a 1/4oz Stanley Finesse Jig in Watermelon Orange color, paired with a 3in Strike King Baby Rage Craw in Bama Bass color.
  20. I believe it's because you could have too much line on your reel, which easily caused bird nests. Had this happen this weekend when I overfilled the spool, and every cast I had a bird's nest, but once I cut some line off it worked perfectly. Tight Lines
  21. I don't even have my first bait caster... I still need to master the works of the spinning reel...
  22. I've been there many times but have never seen any minnows... maybe I don't look hard enough... Thanks for the info
