  1. I have a few lures that I have 'retired' super spook jr - fished the same lure for 2 years, all sorts of beat up, when i was just getting in the swing of fishing for real heddon torpedo prop bait - was camping at champlain and the camper next to me was all excited about me fishing, came back that night and he put this lure on my electric outlet. Caught a few smallies on it. ned rig - sounds dumb and it is, but my pb came on it. Was throwing jigs and t rigged orange craws in my first time at champlain into flooded bushes, lots of fish, got snagged and popped the line, picked up a ned and first cast 5lb 11oz largie. I thought jigs caught big fish...
  2. fish just over the border in NJ, fishing has been good. Some lakes are 65* and the bite has slowed and bass are sitting on beds. Others are mostly cruising. Hate this time of the year, not a big bed fish guy and it's slow picking with hard baits, my preferred style.
  3. excel is an awesome option, no need to write it down on paper. Easiest way is a bit more advanced. Look up on youtube how to make dropdown menu's to save time. That way you enter all your basic info, from date (autofill on entry) weather, time, location, lure, color, water temp and leave the last box open for a basic description of location.
  4. Went to champlain last may. Was terrific lmb fising (i was really hoping to get on the smallies, only found 2). There is a lot of structure and cover that sets up well for lmbs in the north and south ends. My biggest thing was water temp, south end of the lake was 55*, mid lake was 50* and north was 62* and stained. Crushed it up north
  5. thanks for the repiles. I have been doing a lot of reading about being a co angler. I think im going to give it a shot of the BFL northeastern division on the Chesapeake this may. for $150 i will atleast get a story out of it. Seems the biggest thing is who/how your boater is. I wouldnt mind getting a super serious person(i say that now with no experience) but i think that would be a great learning opportunity. Im not looking to make a career out of it, just change up the fishing a little bit.
  6. Never fished a tournament, but i see that a co angler for local bfl's are $150 entry. It seems like i get to 'rent' a boater and just fish off the back of his boat all day. Can anyone who's done this give me any insight on if it's worth it, do's and donts and what to expect. Seems like a good deal of fun, slim chance I do good and make $100 bucks, but it's cool to have that option.
