I just came on here to make a vent post! The fishing gods have struck both of us. Lost 2 5lbers back to back today in the span of 30mins on a frog. Got them right up to the dock and saw them. One got wrapped around the dock post and the other got into some lily pads. I salvaged the night by catching a little 3lber on a spook, but I'm still salty.

Not necessarily, but I buy and sell gear all the time and keep all the money within the hobby. My way to afford trying different gear.

Picked up a pile of rods at an estate auction a few months ago and came across a rod that I'm having trouble tracking down online. It's a G. Loomis GL2 PR 845c Not marked IMX Pro and the GL2 graphic appears to be a older design than anything I can find on eBay. From what I've read these are good crankbait rods? I bought several when 13 had a closeout sale and they were dirt cheap. They are solid budget rods, I use for moving baits etc.. Pretty light for the price too which has become my #1 priority with rods.

I ran three 8.1 Daiwa Fuego CTs as my main reels last season and difference between a 7.1 or 7.4 is pretty minimal. Probably a dedicated frog setup is the only time I'd actually seek one out intentionally

Yes that's what I was thinking, but wasn't 100% sure how they would react. I currently have 2 bucks that are nice. A shooter Im wanting this fall over 4 years old and a younger 10 point that will be a stud in a year or two. Hopefully they don't completely disappear from the area and still pass through the edges of the property.

I have about 20 acres that I hunt that is private land and nobody else even goes on it. There is a farm pond that I'll fish throughout the summer and I'll do the occasional camp out, but other than that the land is pretty much saved for hunting. Next spring I will be moving onto the property and I'm getting worried that I'll ruin my hunting odds by the increased activity. Although 20 acres sounds large, its shaped and lays very weirdly making it almost hunt like a smaller property. And to make matters worse due to getting water, the spot I'll be living on is pretty much right in the middle of the property. Will the deer population get used to this increased noise/activity if the surrounding property is still good deer land? Thanks! Btw not building permanently, just setting up a 5th wheel .

So I'm getting my first boat ready for the water and Ohio requires new boat owners to take a state approved safety course. The course however has a lot of info related to sail boats and large bodies of water, which is not the type of boating I'm going to do and it has a lot of rules I don't know if I need to follow for small lakes. I'm told side navigation lights are required, as well as an all around white light (or red/green bow/stern lights) But I'm not planning on any night fishing at all, so I didn't know if it was still required just on small lakes in the day? I've fished with several friends in their various boats and I know for a fact they don't have any side lights on them. To me this feels directed more toward larger boats on large lakes etc.. But I also don't want to run illegal. What am I missing?

I may have to try that. It would offer good info on trying to find any patterns, especially if you fish the same body of water.

I'm in Ohio and in order to operate a boat over 10hp, if you're born after 1982, you have to get a boating license. Several online courses claim they are state approved, but are free. Others cost like $30. What's the deal?
