No idea on application for this Rod...what say you?

Featured Replies

Hey guys/girls....I recieved a brand new 13 Fishing Fate Spinning Rod as a gift.  It is 7'1" in length, Medium/Heavy power, Extra Fast action.  I've been scratching my head to figure out which application best fits this rod.  Understand I am new to Bass Fishing.  From the research I've done....Drop Shots, Tubes, and Ned Rigs require Medium to Medium/light, so they're out.  Spinner Baits, Bladed Baits & Swimbaits I throw on a Baitcaster.

I don't know....I'm guessing Jigs, maybe some topwater.  Texas/Carolina Rigs?

Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Definitely a jig/worm rod.

First, understand that the label on the rod may or may not correspond to how the rod actually fishes, so actual time on the water is the right answer, but assuming it is somewhat accurate, small to medium t-rigs, lighter swim jigs, larger tubes, and with mono some treble hook lures.(micro chatter too, but shhhhh...)

I have a similar rod basically dedicated to a weightless T-Rigged Senko.

As others have said, it sounds like a rod for soft plastics to me.

dont throw out the tube just yet, the extra fast tip screams for a texas rig or tube, you can use any lures that fit the labeled weight range

This would be perfect for Finesse Jigs.

Weightless plastics, and maybe shakey head and finesse jigs with a light hook
