  1. True, that would sell me instantly if I was new to it. Seeing a lot of roboworms being responsible haha
  2. Ndyakangler and Alex Rudd should have so much more but they cut a lot of crap out to target certain people I think the younger guys do. I’m glad though cause they are sooooo much more enjoyable to watch. Jon b and lunkers to me make good content but I obviously prefer the channels that are more fishing oriented (Jon b mostly is) IMO, some of the guys that exploded lost their way with explaining tactics and what they used and just seem to clickbait
  3. Well it kind of applies but I think you have a better shot with a Ned and they make offset Ned’s now which just makes me love it more. I got a 5 pounder of a bed with a nedrig last year so maybe I just got lucky idk I think it’s just right placement. I fished a lake in md that is insanely pressured, strictly roboworms from 4 1/2 to 6 and would consistently catch in front of 3-10 boats or bankers catching nothing. Or hazedong shads(new favorite) . Your right now you say it Gary Klein was filming I think or doing research this year and caught a 13 on a drop shot glad you brought that up. But was it small or large profile (if it matters) This is why I LOVE this place. I always just run the hook straight through the nose half inch or so in and it’s exposed and I never even though about it. Over the winter I tend to read countless articles , seen some people even use offset worm hooks for drop shotting. And good point also on barely lifting to pull it out I learned not to yank cause I saw the weight just whip around a limb 4 or 5x
  4. You’re referring to PA right? I fished raystown last year and my girl tied a drop shot on and lost her pb cause she was using junk line. It’s good and no question my favorite but a lot of dinks, now cranking I’m just diving into. Lipless being my new favorite switching out hooks on warpigs and red eyes now lol Man I would have killed for that “accident” , were you fishing a medium light rod?
  5. I always talk/hear people saying drop shotting should be done in the winter. Last year was when I really got obsessed with drop shotting and I always went to it for confidence. It caught me sooooo many fish when nothing else (even Ned rigs) did. However, I never caught a fish over 4 pounds drop shotting. I usually use smaller profile baits less than 3 inches. Should be said I never bed fished with a drop shot either and usually don’t dare throw it towards any cover at all. Just wondering if anyone has any idea what could be going on with that
  6. It kinda is ethically wrong to lie about it as an angler to the fans, but they gotta make their money. That’s on whoever publishes this said photo. If it was him who published and directly stated on an interview holding a zoom or whatever in a video, yea he’s in the wrong. I trust certain things like when lee won the classic the second time gman got up on stage stating he buys jackhammers out of pocket like everyone else. Just what they use as tactics is what should be noted cause everyone knows business is business See Scott Martin switching to favorite rods, never heard him yet talking about reel sponsors but when it comes down to it he has shimano reels now. Unless I’m missing a video or statement from him that shows they are just like us and have choices but when you sign those contracts that goes out the window
  7. Starting this to talk to anyone about what’s working, and meet some new people to fish with since Ive just lived to the area. Been out 2x with good luck already this year. Gonna hammer the hell out of snakehead this year too This was this last Saturday’s outing, caught more but none bigger than 2.5 pounds at Leonard’s mill. Gonna be fishing out of a kayak a lot and a little angler 10
  8. Funny you said that I fished the upper Potomac for smallies and put mono on a baitcaster for the first time and it did me well. Though at the spot I sfished I had to re-tie a lot cause of all the rocks knocking it and then those browns digging in when they get hooked
  9. the Night bite, dying to really think cperiance a good one but mosquitoes on the eastern shore of Maryland take a dump on night fishing. Does the fact you use mono take away from the sensitivity feel at night? Also not using braid to a leader seems like it would but tying a leader knot at night just seems like a major pain in the ass
  10. I’m for sure trying it out on topwater, might just rig it on my m/f spinning combo and dedicate that to those said baits. I will definitely look into the stretch that was my debate on using it and what for
  11. You could not be more right, by far the best social media platform. Even our interest minus the cars for me is the exact same and to each their own, you learn a lot with it too it’s second in my go to for finding out fishing info or just enjoying myself. Plus they have a lot of giveaways
  12. I tried copolymer 1x and birdnested immediately 2 years ago. Granted it was my first baitcaster and hardly any experience. I wanna pick your brain as to which tactic you think it suits best. Braid is the same for me except around my area i frog a lot for snakeheads and bass and it gets insanely thick with vegetation Pretty much puts research into concrete fact what you just stated. Appreciate the input. Might be the only time I truly use it as I’ve grown to love flouro for nedrigs and dropshots, flipping and everything else. What you said might apply to me cause this past outing I was hopping/dragging a dark sleeper and had a helluva thump. I really think I set the hook to quick but it doubled my 5 power over. I may try heavier mono to compensate my quick trigger habit. Plus I’m getting obsessed with lipless cranks and really wanna gain confidence in squarebills. I’ve had d**n good hook ups with red label fluorocarbon but lost a couple maybe at a 7/10 ratio. Which could happen anytime but everyone’s opinions are swaying me to atleast dedicate a rod to mono Btw JLBBass great mention on sticking to the line guides for your rod, not a lot of people seem to think that’s as crucial as it is
  13. Thanks for that solid yet obvious tip haha. I got 8 pound I wanted to try, use it for certain applications that allow a little more stretch. Always used it as a kid and everyone else in my family who just fish for fun strictly use it
  14. Just wondering when to actually use it, I always here about using it with spooks or lighter treble hooker topwater. I’ve been fishing heavily for 3 years now and trying and learning as I go. This website is my go to just set up an account and figured this would be the true best route to get good knowledge on it. Wether it be leader to braid, on a m/m rod and how light do I go on mono mainline or leader???? Thanks guys
  15. wait until tw has a sale for an upgrade on that American hero, that or amazon has okuma tcs Rods for $100 if you can swing it. One for any application you want. Get rid of that junk I’m in the process of ridding my carbon fire for that reason. If it doesn’t function well use it for a reaction rod
