  1. I've had some epic evenings with that one!
  2. Zoom Mag II U-Tale 7.5" worm has caught a lot of fish this year. It has been productive in Redbug, Junebug and Watermelon/Red.
  3. It's jigs for me too. I catch a lot of fish on swim jigs. But when it comes to football jigs or flipping jigs, I can't catch a fish on them. I've caught 2 in my pond at home, but that is a little different. They hit anything that is new to them. I need to leave everything else at home and force myself to use them. I give up very easily when I have a T-rig laying on the floor of the boat.
  4. My home lake is Pickwick. It is a 43,100 acre lake on the Tennessee River between Wilson Dam in the South to Pickwick Dam in the North. Pickwick is known for its giant largemouth and giant smallmouth. Some say the next world record smallie will come from either Pickwick or Dale Hollow. Tournaments on Pickwick often take a 25lbs-30lbs bag to place in the top 5. Pickwick has a little of everything, grass, lots of wood, rock, bluff walls. Many people fish the creek channels, ledges, humps and other structure offshore. For those that like panfish, Pickwick is loaded with all kinds. Accommodations are fantastic. That's the positive. The negative is the recreational boating often overcrowds the lake. Every weekend (day and night) there seems to be 8-10 tournaments going on around the lake. My experience is that Pickwick has diminished as a fishery for the average angler. The pros still tear it up with big bags and lots of numbers. I have talked to a dozen or more anglers who all say they are struggling on Pickwick this year and last year. So as far as it goes as a natural treasure and what it offers? I'd give it 5 stars. As far as the potential to catch a trophy of a lifetime? 5 stars. As far as it being a prolific fishery for the average angler, I'd give it 3 stars. So an average of 4+ stars. Edit: I consider myself a good bass fisherman but Pickwick has humbled me. I can't figure it out.
  5. These are about all I will buy. And, just as a side note, if you have an Ollie's store near you, the ones near me have had a lot of both of these for cheap. I have bought Red Bug, June Bug, Watermelon/Red and Green Pumpkin for $3.99 a pack. They usually have Zoom lizards and Trick Worms too.
  6. Yep. After seeing the Deps Cover Scat online multiple times, I ran across a thread Bazoo started about them. Several members sang its praises as a great lure. I immediately went and spent money on them. Haven't used them yet.
  7. Thank you. What kind of seal is needed to close it back up to keep water out?
  8. I don't know for sure but it is pretty old. It is a Motorguide Bassmaster BASS Digital Variable Speed trolling motor. 70 lbs thrust. How hard is that to do on your own? Are there problems with resealing it?
  9. I have a Motorguide Tour Series 70 lbs thrust trolling motor. It has recently started barely turning at all at any speed at first. After a while, it will start spinning at full speed for the rest of the trip. Batteries are good. Plug is good. Prop is clear of debris/line. It is a hand control with foot switches to trigger power. There doesn't seem to be any hesitation in the switches starting any movement even if weak. Any ideas what to check first to try and fix the problem?
  10. Thank you for the responses.
  11. I've got a1986 Mariner 150 Magnum. I noticed this yesterday when inspecting my transom. Is it something broken? It looks that way. Anybody know?
  12. Yep. That's a Lone Star tick. It has a white dot in the center of it's body. Our property is covered up with them. I have found at least a dozen on me this year and find probably 30-40 a year either attached or crawling. Scares me to death every time I find one attached. I love steak.
  13. PY - Keitech Fat Swing Impact 3.8" - Sight Fish color - fished on a weighted screw lock hook CY - Rage Swimmer 3.75" - Electric Shad color - fished on a Fusion 1/4 oz swimbait head PB - Heddon Baby Torpedo - Frog Color
  14. This is solid advice. A lot of wisdom here.
  15. Most of my luck has come on a Zoom trick worm rigged either on a weightless T-rig or on a split shot rig. Weightless T-rig fooled this one.

  17. Yeah, Tom, we couldn't find a number of letter of any kind on the prop. The prop guy and I both went over it multiple times and couldn't find anything outside anywhere or inside the hub center area. Pretty crazy.
  18. I have a 1986 Mariner 150 Magnum. The current prop does not have any markings on it of any kind. It is bent and I took it to a prop guy and he couldn't find markings either. I would like to buy a new prop but don't know what size to buy. I would like to keep the same size. It jumped out of the hole fast and ran about 64 mph WOT. Does anybody, by chance, know what size props came on that motor originally? This is the original prop.

  20. I know I have had the same issues. I had to quit using a heavy action rod I have because the long handle kept getting hung in my shirt at the torso when I flip or pitch. T-shirts help but I like wearing Magellan or Columbia fishing shirts (button up) so they are a loose. I'm afraid the answer is being conscious of the rods and handles we buy depending on how we use them.
