  2. Greg and I usually don't hit the lake on holidays but decided to get out early before some of the squirrels came out to play. To all those that say......"can't catch bank fish this time of year"...... I say......I can! 12:15 pm, bright sun, boat sitting in 5 ft of water.... Timberpup must have irresistable
  3. Yes, it is really nice to have a "special" place for "special" people As you can see, there are still some with not so nice comments.... Unfortunately, there will always be some that think that ONLY men can and should fish. I'm very thankful that there are however some intelligent men out there that realize that their manhood isn't jeopardized!!! THANKS for your support!!!
  4. Welcome!

  9. What fun!!!!! Wish we could have made it down Glad you were thinkin bout the fishes health.
  10. Sincerely hope my "looks" or lack thereof had nothing to do with the raise.....might have gotten a pay cut Hopefully it's a show of appreciation of my abilities and dedication to our clinic and our patients!!!
  11. Glad y'all got to make a trip out. Cherokee sure looks pretty! Sometimes it's just being out there that makes the trip great, catching is a bonus. Burley.....they do make a product for that red skin condition.....it's called SUNSCREEN. I know, I have two bottles of Bullfrog in the boat. Am shedding skin myself, maybe I'll learn to apply it. Doesn't do a bit of good in the bottle!!!
  12. Board of Directors met today....I've been given a raise, more than $2 an hour! I've been Clinical Director for just under 4 months. It's great to feel appreciated!!!!
  13. Yes Glenn, ALL of both lake were closed. First time in history. It didn't stay closed too long. They opened up KY from Kenlake down to Paris Landing on Thur. They then opened it up more towards the north on Sat, I believe. It has just been announced that all of both lakes are now open!!!!
  14. to check lake level http://lakeinfo.tva.gov/htbin/lakeinfo?site=KYH&DataType=All&submit=View+info It is supposed to be down to 364.3 by Wed.....still 5 ft over summer pool Be CAREFUL on Ky Lake, it can get very rough very fast! With the lake pull down, I expect most of the trees, cows, boat docks, house boats and such that are currently floating around to be beached by then....most but not all. ALWAYS be looking where you are going!!!! Color.....think money....green! You didn't say where you were planning on launching but Moors should be usable by then. So will Big Bear. Let me know if you need more local info....I've been here a long, long time
  15. Way to go guys! Congrats on the great catches!! Sounds like a good time was had by all.
  16. It's open now except for about 2 miles closest to the d**n. This is the dock in the first picture. Not the best pics to compare but it'll give you a general idea...
  17. We went down to check out the lake levels this evening. Took a few pics.... This the ramp in front of our house...it's under all that water somewhere!

Thanks Guys! It has been an awesome week!!! To get to be in on the organizational meetings for the new ladies tour and meet some of the top female anglers has been an unforgettable experience. Then to fish with and against them......what a week! Some of the ladies in attendance were Pam Martin-Wells, Cheryl Bowden, Secret York, Lynda Gessner, Patti Campbell, Diana Clark, Laura Heflin, Lisa Stenard, Robbie Hartline, Audrey McQueen. We had round table discussions to plan next years tour. I had the pleasure of sitting in with Pam as our group leader.....What a HOOT she is! Look out world, there will be a ladies tour next year. We are actually having another tournament in September of this year, then there will be 5 in 2011. The Lady Bass Anglers Association has been born! What an awesome experience!!!
  20. My Grandson! I like to "shoot" critters, especially eagles & hummingbirds and BASS!

Gonna see alot of that this week on KY Lake. The Ladies Pro tournament is Thur and Fri! I'll be running in a pretty nice Ranger myself wish me luck!!!!!
  22. Yep, I think you're doing the right thing. Have you looked for a couples club to fish with? As she fishes spends more time on the water, her confidence level will increase and the more she'll want to be out there. Try hard to NOT be pushy or short tempered at any time on the water. I once had a man tell me I was too stupid (his words) to learn to bass fish........next week I'll be fishing the Pro side of the Ladies organizationial tournament. This will be the lead off for the next Ladies Professional Bass Fishing Series tournament trail. Doesn't mean I'll win it, but at least I have the confidence to enter and fish it! Again, I think you're on the right track....just keep fishing and having fun.
  23. Ok, here's my thoughts.....such as they are. If you are as close as it appears you are, she should tell you if she doesn't want to go. You can not read minds and she can't read yours. Communicate. As far as introducing her to other ladies that fish, that might backfire. She might feel as if you think she isn't learning fast enough or that you'd rather she fish with someone else. She might really like to fish with other ladies or she might feel really intimidated by them. I was asked to fish in a ladies club several years before I finally did. Intimidation was a big part of it. I had to be comfortable with my abilities before I would even consider fishing with other females. I've now been fishing with them for many, many years. I would rather fish with my husband but also enjoy getting out and fishing with "the girls". Best of luck to both of you, may you catch many fishes!!!!!
  24. Steve.....you are almost as obnoxious online as you are in person Sounds like a great day. Fish & friends, great combination!!!
