  1. I'm thinking of trying to fish Candlewood at the end of April when my son is on leave. I'm usually on Champlain but he wants to try somewhere different. Is is worth the 5 hour trip at that time of season?
  2. Thanks I stuck to the south end and went up that river and got a good frog bite. I tried the north end with no luck.
  3. I live in Plattsburgh on Champand it's great but I favor the St. Lawrence for sure. As far as a guide I would suggest Burnie Haney https://burniehaney.com/ He generally sticks in Lake Ontario for bass and he is always on fish. I was his co angler for a tournament once and I learned a lot from him.
  4. I'm thinking of trying to hit Lake Chautauqua the last week of September or first week of October for bass. It's a place I've never been to. Can anyone offer some insight on areas to target or stay away from.
  5. I cam there all the time, I love on Champlain. I would suggest Floodwood rd. There is a series of ponds and campsires that are free. Bass and pike are plentiful in most. Floodwood pond, East Pine, and Long pond are all good for bass.
  6. I'm thinking of putting my name in the hat for it and making the 12hr drive from Lake Champlain. I think it will be a good time.
  7. Going to Oneida Lake this weekend and never have been. Any specific tackle I should bring. Normally I'm on Champlain or the St. Lawrence
  8. I recently purchased my first bass boat. I live in upstate NY right on the Canadian border. During the winter I plan on having the boat shrink wrapped and winterized in October. Would it harm my soft plasics to be stored in the boat over the winter in the freezing temperatures?
  9. Prior to this past season I always used a ACB Gspot shad. Now after using others the Reins 4 inch bubbling shaker was great and I had good success with the Strike King Baby Z-too. I usually run 10 pound Sufix 832 to a 8 pound Sufix Floro leader. I always run a Gamakatsu 1/0 circle hook because it has been the most consistent with not dropping fish.
  10. I will be down as well. I'm making the trip from the north end of Lake Champlain in NY. It's going to be interesting for sure. I fish out of a canoe as opposed to a kayak. It's going to be a good experience.
  11. I will be making a trip to fish Guntersville on March 30 for a week. I've never fished down in that area and havent been south in about 15 years. I'm looking for information on what tackle and colors I should bring with me. I'm not looking for anyone's spots just a healthy clue on what I should be using. Basically I'm just looking for ideas on what I should bring with me. I'm coming from NY on Lake Champlain so it's going to be a learning curve. I appreciate any advice. Quote Edit
