  1. Holy Smokes!! What did you catch them on?
  2. Well, this was the year I started to get into bass fishing, so I didn’t catch many big ones. Also, I spent most of my time fishing in the creeks/small rivers near me for smallmouth, and none were ever very big. I really didn’t know of any lakes near me with fishing access, but now I have learned of some, so I will be hitting those this year. ?
  3. With all the stuff about the new year, I thought it would be cool to have a thread where everyone should post a picture of their biggest bass of 2019.
  4. Can’t go wrong with a Dirty Jigs Matt Allen Swimbait Head. As far as I know, those things are special, give a real nice action to the swimbait.
  5. I hear those rods are great especially for the price. I don’t have one, but I’m sure you’ll be very happy with it.
  6. That’s it all right. Thanks for the help. Interesting. What exactly is the purpose of this thing?
  7. Ah, looks like it. Could you elaborate on what that is? Is that the same thing as a1712 said?
  8. So I got a new spinning reel recently (Daiwa Procyon LT). Today I noticed it made a sound when I reeled in, so I opened it up and took the spool out. I found a weird looking wire just sitting on top of the washer on the shaft. (like in the picture below) It didn’t look like it was doing anything, so I took it out, and then the reel was perfectly silent when I reeled in. I couldn’t find the wire in the parts list I got, so any ideas on what this is or how it got here?
  9. Got some nice stuff for Christmas. That’s a Daiwa Procyon reel and a SLX md lt rod. Also got some tubes, dropshot equipment, and a finesse underspin rig.
  10. @MN Fisher and @OkobojiEagle Well this is embarrassing. The handle screws in. And the drag is completely fine, I’m just used to cheap reels that have loud clicky drag systems. It’s just quiet, nothing wrong at all. Well, thanks for your time I appreciate it.
  11. @MN Fisher Wow that was fast! Note the edit in the post; wrote that part after you had already replied!
  12. Got a new reel yesterday for Christmas (Daiwa Procyon). When I went to put the handle on, it didn’t really want to fit in the hole. I did get it in, but now it’s stuck in there, without the knob on the other side even screwed in. When I turn the handle, it sometimes catches and turns the reel, but then it loses it and the handle just spins by itself. Any way to help this I can’t get the handle out of the socket?? Edit: When I put the knob in and tighten it, the reel turns beautifully. So I guess the only problem now is that I can’t get the handle out/off, not that that’s much of a problem.
  13. Took these off google. Hopefully that’s not stealing
  14. Get any good Fishmas loot this year?? Be sure to let everyone know! Merry Christmas All
  15. I have not caught a fish with a lure with treble hooks besides top water. I just haven’t. (That’s no crank baits, no square bills, no lipless, nothing. When I try, I dint get anything, so that causes me to lose confidence in that sort of thing.
  16. 3-4 times a week on a small pond seems like a lot to me.

  18. Oh, so now that I put something on it I’ll get the notifications when someone else posts?
  19. How can I follow this thread?
  20. This is great to know thank you! I do have a medium spinning rod that has pretty moderate action, so I plan on using that for treble hook baits. Edit: It certainly is pretty stiff, much more than the mh dobyns colt I had until I snapped it in a door...(that rod definitely had a pretty light action)
  21. I really had no idea it went that high when i bought it... (not that it's a bad thing) It is a Bass Pro Shop Pro Qualifier 2 rod. As far as I know, it is pretty nice, I had the tourney special a few years back, and it was a hunk o junk, but I've heard that as you move up the price range, BPS rods start to get pretty good, plus i got it for 60 bucks. Anyway, here's some proof:
