  1. @Tizi and @NorthernBasser UPDATE: the rod says the lure wight is 3/8 to 1 1/2.
  2. I want to get an a waver or two so I can try out glide baits. Would my 7’ MH casting rod be able to throw one? I’m looking at the 168 size as well as the 120. I know I probably won’t be able to do the 168 but I’m mostly wondering about the 120. Any help is appreciated thanks.
  3. Already got my stuff from Black Friday, for Christmas I asked for a Slx/nasci med lt spinning combo and some finesse gear/baits.
  4. Awesome. How did you get a mojo bass so cheap?
  5. I would go with a Daiwa fuego or maybe a Shimano nasci
  6. https://www.bassresource.com/fish_biology/skinny-fish.html Saw this article yesterday at our very own bassresource.com and I thought it was very interesting. I never thought that a bass would eat a soft plastic they ripped of a hook. I know this article was on the same website I’m posting this on, but I think everyone should see it.
  7. Black Friday stuff came in! Super excited to throw my first jackhammers. More coming at Christmas...
  8. With the whole buying/selling different colors thing, a color being shiny/reflective would probably change something, but that is very interesting that they only really see two colors. Makes me wonder why I have so many colors of different lures.
  9. I agree. Any idea how to find out who to send it to?
  10. I’ve had my first real bait caster for almost a year now. I was wondering if there is something I should do over the off season to keep it in good working condition. It did come with a little bottle of oil or something but didn’t say how to use it. Any tips would be appreciated thank you! Edit: it is a Shimano SLX
  11. Not too small. I got one size bigger earlier this year and wish I got the 1
  12. I just added some of these to my camera roll. If that is not okay, please let me know and I will delete them
  13. I’ve heard this as well. I was leaning away from it but I think I’ll go with it. Now with the problem of figuring out what size line. I’ll figure it out though. I’m thinking maybe 12# braid to 8# leader
  14. You have our thoughts and prayers. Hope he gets well soon.
  15. So I will be getting a md lt Slx rod with a 2500 nasci on Black Friday. I want to use braid to leader for added sensitivity, but I’ve never had braided line or a md lt rod. What size braid/flouro should I use? I will be using dropshot, tubes, Ned rigs, etc. Thank you for any information, I really don’t know much about this.
  16. Or even use golfing as an excuse to fish the golf course ponds...
  17. We actually used a lot of wacky worms, and some soft plastic swim baits. Looking back, I would have asked to tie on a lure better suited for big bass(not that swimbaits are for small ones). Also, I think I said 300. It was more like 150-200.
  18. I’m in high school, and last year I went there with my dad and two brothers. We weren’t very experienced bass fishermen yet, but we caught about 250-300 largemouth in around 5 hours. We didn’t catch anything over 2-3 pounds, but he said there’s just days like that. We drove in his truck for about an hour before we got to a very remote part that was a favorite of his. We also caught some exotic species(can’t remember what they were called). Remember, this is the full wild Everglades, with alligators and everything it was very cool. I don’t mean to be advertising or anything, but it was really a special time.
  19. Oh sorry I still am a bit of a beginner myself but you learn something new every day ill have to try some Sorry I was talking about the little spinners like a mepps or a rooster tail
  20. Welcome aboard! As previous people have said, keep it simple. Get some different lures for different parts of the water column. I wouldn’t use any spinners any more because they really don’t have a great chance of getting anything of decent size.
  21. That paint job looks great! Well done
  22. Don’t go behind her back. Just tell her how it means a lot to you, and these will be the best deals of the year. Show her how you can afford it, but don’t sneak around. Telling her and coming to an agreement will build a whole new level of trust to your relationship. Make the smart choice Joe
  23. https://floridaevergladesbassfishingadventures.com/ Hard to beat catching some giants deep in the Everglades. I went last year and had a blast.
