  1. “I think I'd feel kinda weird wearing it while not competing and don't want to come across as one of "those guys," but I love wearing it because it's comfortable” It pretty much comes down to this sentence here. You’ll certainly look like that guy, but is it comfortable enough to offset that for you?
  2. Yeah. My understanding is to not overdo it on cooler size as they just require more ice. Meaning coolers works best when full. Figure how much you need to store then go from their on size. as for styrofoam, and this is an in general comment, some people love them because they are cheap.....but they also don’t work as well and can break with the quickness.
  3. I’m in Chelsea, which if unfamiliar with the area is 15 miles southeast of Birmingham down Highway 280.
  4. Always enjoy reading these stories. Thanks for sharing. I may start playfully telling people I will take their fishing boats/kayaks odd their hands just to see what happens LOL
  5. Do rafts and jons have to be registered to fish out there? Trolling motor only.
  6. I don’t know a ton by any means, but in this thread the only vehicles I’d use to haul more than a little utility trailer would be the Tundra and the Tacoma. Never would’ve dreamed of hooking up a boat to a RAV4, Sorento, etc.
  7. My dads bass boat has a hot foot without the option to switch back and fourth to traditional. It’s nice for cruising from spot to spot but I feel a dock and trailer the boat better with a traditional throttle. I think I’d like it better if it had the option to go back and fourth like some I have seen.
  8. Thanks for the responses and for moving to the correct location. It seems good in theory, but I went over labor day and never really even considered anchoring at all. I have a buddy who goes a lot who has one and he loves it though.
  9. I’m not sure if this is the correct forum for this or not, but whom all had one of these? I’ve never used one, but they sounds awesome. i guess what I’m really getting to is if buying a used boat how much of a pro is it to possibly buy one that already has a working one of these mounted?
  10. Greetings! Really just getting into fishing again and joined to read up and learn. Already want a boat though.....forgot how peaceful and relaxing the whole process of fishing is. The up before sunrise quiet, still waters, etc.
  11. The other I found was a 2013 Stinger 175 with supposedly only about 15 hours on it and has been kept inside and winterizes for two years. Has essential the same “extras”, but it is about a 8-9 drive from where I live. It’s the same price, but has a 60hp motor on it as opposed to the 75 on the Stryker. Any Lowe boat owners have the model boat, even if in another year?
  12. I found this boat online for $12,500 or best offer. It's supposedly only got 24 hours on the Mercury 75hp motor. Comes with semi standard stuff like a galvanized trailer, fish finder, trolling motor and an on board ProMite series battery charger. One owner and stored indoors it's entire life. That sounds like a good deal to me if true.....what say you guys/gals? I'm extremely new to bass fishing and boating, but have started to look at boats online. Sounds like a good deal to me.......I don't know what these cost new back then, only able to see the price on recent models.
  13. Thanks for the response! That was all I could see being different as well. The classic looks like you also have to purchase a cover whereas the Heritage I believe came with one.
  14. What’s the difference between the two exactly? Other than color and a year or two. If I go now I’m either going with someone or taking my dads early 2000s ProCraft out. It’s a fine boat and all, but they are 1.5 hours away so it’s not really convenient to even go once a month, much less every weekend
  15. Love this boats look. Really digging the throwback. I want to get into fishing more and this is probably all I would need. The only one for sale near me is actually more than they were brand new.....but it does say it’s only been ran for 5 hours.
  16. I’m just talking small lakes around Alabama....definitely nothing like 2’ waves. The trackers caught my eye because A) I see a lot of them and )B they are affordable for a recreational fisher which is all I aspire to be. i am married with a 10 year old. I think I would certainly go Mod, but the Deep I wonder if it would be better for just cruising around with the two of them on occasion......also may be an easier sale for the wife which never hurts
  17. Greetings! I'm very new to bass fishing, but am already thinking about a boat. I know, it's nuts, but it's also addicting. What are the pros/cons of these two different types.....other than just how they look. I'm in Alabama and would be fishing the various lakes with driving distance of Birmingham....Martin, Logan-Martin, Lay and Mitchell. TIA
