  1. It would be nice if they let us know who they are on here atleast!
  2. I wonder how red would stand out? Ive got Delta Red rage craws and menaces I should try there.
  3. If I remember right @J Francho has said to upsize baits in ponds and use as big as you possibly can. Someone said i know that much.
  4. ...37 people taught me how to correctly fish the ned rig in the right color!
  5. Yeah ive watched videos before but forgot which was which. It takes practice for sure.
  6. Im sure I'm thought of as the annoying guy who asks way too many questions haha. Ive learned so much here and i take the knowledge with me to the water every time I go. I practice what ive learned, use the suggestions ive gotten and I think make more informed decisions based on what I learned here. Ive only been fishing for four years and I'm a grown adult. So its never too late to start and learn from people that I'm sure some are younger than me, and no doubt some older lol.
  7. I guess I am pitching then?? I have the rod/reel in one hand and the lure in the other. I drop the lure, lower the tip of the rod, then raise it and flick the lure out. Im not very good but i do best with jigs on my 7'2 H rod. I can sail it decently. On a 7' MH with fluoro and a T Rig I'm not as good at distance.
  8. See im not the only one who saw these studies!
  9. You lost me on interpolation. I'm guessing it means how the brain interprets the signals sent from the eyes. Which I do understand the brain is actually creating what we see and the eyes are merely the apparatuses that let the light in. Without light color ceases to exist.
  10. To me it cuts way down on visibility. I have a koi pond and used it once and it started gin clear and when I added it I could barely make out the bottom. I would test it but since having kids my pond has gone to sh.... Lets say its not well maintained now haha. Cat tails have taken it over.
  11. I remember reading somewhere that some scientist dissected a bass eye and studied the rods and comes. From what the study said, wait, wait.... Im quoting the study. No idea if its true nor am I a scientist or optometrist. Anyways, the study said they see red and green for color, then light and dark. It said basically light as in chartreuse and white look the same, black and a dark purple like junebug look the same. So lighter, darker, green, red. Again not sure if its true. I'll work on providing a link.
  12. That's the stuff! 99% of the time its in managed ponds and subdivision ponds. I have junebug but that's about All the purple I have besides some curl tail worms, and I NEVER throw worms except stick baits. Guess I could always chang that haha. Zman colors closest I have is mood ring or meat dog. I do have some Powerbait Bottom Hoppers in Ikes Morning Down I might try. Could switch between wacky, t-rig, and drop shot super easy.
  13. Only two colors of Zman TRD Crawz that I have so took a pick for something different.
  14. Blue as in UV blocking anti algae pond die. It literally makes the water blue. Ive never dialed in a good color for it. Black and blue I figured the blue would vanish. I dont have any black/red or would go with that. GP maybe? No clue so anyone that has experience what has worked best?
  15. I have them and use them on a 1/10oz ned head. Gets the tail kicking on the fall just enough. Its a very slim, streamlined bait so it falls pretty good.
  16. I'm terrible at jig fishing but I put these together and think they look cool. Some match and the green pumpkin with black and blue is way different. Havent used them yet but should be interesting.
  17. Thank you my friend. Ive always heard Chaplains Assistant was not an easy MOS. Im doing better every day but thank you! Ive beem fishing about four years now and still learning. Im working on my mindset alot right now. Winter time ive done ok for dinks and small numbers working a dropshot and ned rig so looking forward to the reduced pressure. I went the other day and brought four combos and my backpack. Hey, its a start for me haha. But was easier than seven! I struck out but really tried to stay positive and not let it get me down and it helped. I enjoyed myself and had less pressure on myself.
  18. Very good outlook on it.. I wish I could get to that place but the competitive side of me wants to catch fish and feel the tug on the line. But I do know there is more to fishing and the days I dedicated to practicing a new lure or technique ive really enjoyed. I really like practicing flipping or pitching. Not sure which I technically am doing haha.
  19. I think of PBJ as a bluegill imitating color. I have green pumpkin purple flake baits but no skirts that are PBJ. Closest Ive found for the ned rig is green pumpkin Goby in the Zinkerz. But I havent really looked. Ive not been overly successful with the color but I like the idea of it.
  20. It looks a bit more compact and less bulky. It's also a different vibration than a jackhammer. Like higher pitched I guess. I rig the paddle tail upside down. I read that tip somewhere but i dont remember. But it doesnt interfere with the thumping of the blade.
  21. I need to check out some local clubs. I never thought about that. Thanks for mentioning that. I will look into it. It would be so nice to get on a lake amd away from ponds for a while.
  22. Hit the nail on the head for me! Also being in the south/Midwest my water will never see a freeze so I can still fish year round. Except the slow winter bite gets me even more frustrated!
  23. I am taking a Wacky rig setup and depending on water clarity will probably end up throwing a green pumpkin Gambler stick bait in it. Already tied on a spinnerbait. Stick and swimbait will depend on water clarity when I get there but once they are in that's what I'm staying with. Less time thinking about what to throw and just fishing. Very true. Alot of it is the unknown of what you reel in when you get a bite. The rush and thrill of feeling that bite, setting the hook, and reeling it in is such an amazing feeling to me. Seeing how big it is and not knowing if I'm reeling in the 5lb bass ive been searching for or a 3lb bass. Either way I'm still happy!
  24. While the wife was at the salon getting her hair done, we had everything already set up so I excused myself and wet a line haha.
  25. I would like to quote and reply to every one but I'm suprised how many comments ive gotten and this has reminded me why i love the fishing community. The support and camaraderie is amazing. I decided today to limit myself to 4 setups. 2 casting and 2 spinning for bottom finesse lures. But that's besides the point. I am exceptionally hard on myself and most of the time wont see it as ahh the fish just werent biting and blame it on throwing the wrong thing in the wrong color in the wrong places. Its a work in progress. Personal growth is hard and slow, but ive made progress in other areas so I will achieve being able to just enjoy being on the water even if i dont catch a fish every outing. I definitely agree with the internet its so easy to rabbit hole down things and obsess over so much when I should just take what I think will work and go for it.
