Ned cut r worm

Featured Replies

What weight head needs to be used to give it good action?

I thought in the past strike king said 1/4 oz on their rage tail products but that is heavier than I am looking to use.

I know rage recommends from 1/8 to 1 ounce depending on different variables. Wind, depth ect.

I prefer the lightest I can use to hold bottom contact. The Ned is effective for me as a dead stick type of presentation.  Let the tail do it's thing and don't over work it.

1/4oz sounds more like the size of bullet weight I would use for the full size Cut-R worm.

I use a 3/16 when swimming any cut, or ribbon tail plastic.

Ive found it to be just enough to get the action moving consistently.

Sorry I just realized I misread your thread. You were asking about using them for a Ned rig which I don’t use.

Just a heads up, you can likely find these for a better price and support a site sponsor @Siebert Outdoors

They also have terminal tackle for the Ned rig.  Personally I use the Morel head.

Ned means finesse worm presentation on a Ned style jig.

Ned Jigs are basically stand up mushroom heads from 1/16oz to  1/8 oz with light wire hook and keeper.

Tom

I bought a couple packs of these at Walmart that come with 2 jig heads and while the heads are heavier than the 1/16th ounce half heads I use for actual Ned rigging the slightly heavier head is perfect on the cut r worm. I believe it’s an 8th ounce head

I have been using them a lot this fall on Zman Finesse Shroomz in the 1/15 size and doing great with them.

I am a die hard Zman fanatic and have to hand it to Rage Tail, they are awesome.

Also recommend getting them from Siebert.

They are also widely available in slightly smaller packs at Walmart at a great price.  They come with 1 or 2? jigheads that seem way too heavy.  I haven't bothered with the jigheads provided.

I bought a few of these at Walmart as well. The jigs are heavier than I use so I would say they are an 8th oz The pack doesn’t say.

I like these worms as do the Pickerel in my area. They look like a one clawed crawfish when sitting on the bottom. When swimming the tail has lots of action

I have them and use them on a 1/10oz ned head. Gets the tail kicking on the fall just enough. Its a very slim, streamlined bait so it falls pretty good.
