  1. They were rearranging the entire fishing section and everything on clearance was in a seperate area and was pretty picked over. As I was walking towards it I saw 2 guys with combos. I wonder what they were! Haha. Only hooks I saw were Panfish hooks unfortunately. But I have a finesse c-rig tied on the new combo with a #2 EWG. Going to try a finesse TRD and a Ticklerz on it.
  2. Went to Wally World for some groceries and decided to walk through the clearance isle. As soon as I walked up I noticed a spinning combo and a few rods and looked at the spinning combo for about 2 seconds before putting it in my cart haha. They had a 13 Fishing Code Chrome in 6'6 M/F, which I dont have that size and action, marked down to $20!! So I grabbed it and am going to use it as a finesse setup for Neko, light Carolina/mojo rig, weightless combo. I have some 20lb braid I'm going to through on it and a 10lb mono leader. A bunch of other stuff was marked way down but only bought the combo.
  3. I agree. Keep that rod bent and start reeling as fast as you can. That's my my frogging rod has a 8.2-1 reel on it. So I can get it out of the slop and back to shore as fast as I can. Im using a 7'2 H/F rod and 60lb braid so I'm not worried in the least about the line breaking or the rod bending too much and breaking. I just horse the fish in as fast as I can.
  4. After hours of reviews watched and articles read, I decided on the Lowrance Fish Hunter Pro. I dont need the 3D so the pro should be fine. I havent bought it yet but will within a few days. Many reasons I like it. Type of imaging, detail, accuracy, and they are a local company. Yes i know they are huge im the marine electronics and all over the world, but their factory and HQ are like 6 miles from me.
  5. Was about to create this thread. I have 2 gift cards totalling $200. Amazon for 100 and Visa for 100. Ive been looking at the iBobber, Lucky, Venetior (sp). Deeper is out of the price range. Im bank bound for now and would love to know depth, temp, cover and structure, snd even fish marking. Ive always wondered whats in the ponds I fish. It fascinates me to the point i want to learn to scuba or cast my knock off go pro out!! I could have a dedicated combo for it so no need to retie. I would make a mount for my phone on the rod too. But..... Do they work?
  6. Ive done alot of research and I'm going to use a Carolina rig with a method feeder it, then corn on the hook and bury in the pack bait on the feeder. As they slurp the pack bait off the method feeder they suck in the hook too. I got a pack bait recipe from tje top carp guy on you tube. Pablo bread crumbs, sweet corn and the liquid in the can, and strawberry Jello. Im making the method feeder out of a spring coil and use a 1/2 oz sinker so it should cast quite far. The pack bait releases and lind of chums the area and draws the carp to it.
  7. I would rather buy a pack of glass rattles and shove one in a TRD and get 10 fish per lure than 2 fish per lure. Do they stand up on the bottom pretty good? Do they float?
  8. Ive been wondering if ive been seeing carp doing that. Ive heard they do it and swirl on top. I throw all sorts of lures at the swirls and moutha and never get a bite so makes sense. But for me this is a good thing because I decided this year i want to add carp to the list of species ive caught. Now I know a pond that should have a bunch in it!
  9. The only thing I would ever consider is their rattling ned baits. But I would go SK Ned Ocho or something if I wanted a small stick other than Zman. But so far all i want is Zman for the TRD style.
  10. As soon as an Amazon gift card I won arrives I'm ordering one.
  11. Im glad to hear a review on it. I really like the looks and knowing it holds more than I thought 99% makes up my mind.
  12. Ive still got a pack of green pumpkin/purple and like one or two black blue flake and I love them but dont use them much because I don't want to run out!!
  13. I looked at the Dark Sleeper and they were way smaller than I ever envisioned them. They wanted $5 for one and I could see myself losing it.
  14. I wish I still had my backpack from the Army. It was huge and had tons of pockets, but i had to turn it in when I got out. I looked at a few that were that style but they were some off brand on Amazon. Civlife I think.
  15. Zman finesse TRD, Ticklerz, and zcrawz, on med heads, Neko and wacky. On a 6'6 BPS ML Crappie Maxx spinning combo with 10lb braid to 12lb fluoro leader (its what I had already).
  16. Im a bank and occasionally boat fisherman. I dont hole so it would be wear it for a few hours while walking a pond. Obviously taking it off the get into it and if i really like a spot, put it down and fish. I just hate having to dedicate a hand to my tackle bag or using the shoulder strap across my body. Also its about more storage than my tackle bag. I want to be able to hold 4 boxes and more plastics. I'm still really leaning towards the Plano 3600 E Series unless I can find something that I think is amazing.
  17. Both look nice. Ive been eyeballing the Plano 3600 E Series pack but going to read reviews on these.
  18. Checked out the thread. I don't need the biggest. I have an Amazon gift card so trying to find one on there. I have $100 and the more the back pack costs the more lures I have to remove from the cart haha. Off brand is fine even.
  19. I haven't but I will check it out. Thanks!
  20. Does anyone have one or used one? How many boxes does it hold, soft plastics bags, various storage? I have a cloth Spiderwire tackle bag I got as a gift and used it for years but i need more space and the idea of a backpack sounds amazing to me. I dont think it would bother me to keep it on and fish. I was in the Army and rucked a 50lb pack around for 15 miles at a time while carrying my M16, so I can handle wearing it all day fishing.
  21. Basically. Simulated salmon egg I believe. Smells like garlic Powerbait, is rubbery and stays on forever.
  22. I have a gloss sexy shad spook but haven't really had any luck on it. Same for the choppo in the same color. But my matte black choppo at night has got my biggest bass of the year. No pattern, just black with a little orange under the chin. So I'm really beginning to believe the patterns are for fisherman and not fish. I was torn between bone and the chrome with black back because I've had good luck with a chrome blue back lipless. Maybe I'll get both!!
  23. Totally worth it. Have used it on mono, copoly, and fluoro. It was a noticeable difference.
  24. I agree with 30-40lb braid. Power Pro is tried and true and wont let you down. My personal favorite is Berkley X5. Im partial to the Shimano SLX rods and agree on 7' MH/F. Will do just about everything good and some things great. Everything else will do good at some and be more purpose oriented towards others.
  25. I use a black Choppo at night or in really dirty water. But to me it seems like 9/10 people on you tube I watch dont throw white or gloss white its always bone. Just wondering if it looks different underwater or something.
