  1. Little combo gift from the skeg monkey and the ramp monkey.
  2. I find that's happening to me more and more often, to be honest. I'm pretty well set as far as anything I need goes, and I'm pretty much just restocking when I buy anything. My next major fishing-related outlay is gonna be some electrical work on the boat, fixing some stuff that I just don't think I'll be able to let myself ignore. It's not unsafe, it's just stupid, and it aggravates me to look at it and think about the fact that somebody did this kind of work on purpose.
  3. And how. I take mine to the dog park (my MIL, who used to do agility comps with her dogs, and teaches people how to train dogs, calls them doggy fight clubs) for exercise and to get all of us out of the house, and...man, some people's animals. And the vast majority of the time, it's not the dog's fault at all. They don't know any better because they haven't been taught.
  4. I am incredibly glad you started posting here.
  5. Nah. Beats living with beat up glasses.
  6. That tub of ice cream don't count if you're chasing a salad with it.
  7. Ask, and ye shall receive.
  8. Look out, she's got a knife.

Good to know I'm at least as accurate as George Perry's fishing buddy. ?
  10. You might can tone that down with the remote if you've got that. I dunno much about the newer ones beyond what I've read online, however, I got curious (and I'm procrastinating), and I did a quick search. When you set it up, did you set a vessel weight or anything like that? Based on what I'm reading, you might can play with those numbers to sandbag the speed the motor chooses when it's repositioning on a spot, or going to a saved spot. Might make it a little less...adventurous.
  11. I don't have an answer to your specific question, but I bet a 36V Ultrex on an 18' hull will run like a cut ape. I keep the 12V All-Terrain that's on my little 15' boat set to 2 on the speed wheel because that's about as fast as I trust myself to let it go without wadding something up. I've already tore one transducer off it (though I maintain that it's only partially my fault, because it was mounted really stupidly).
  12. I'm hard on stuff, but, like I said, I wear them as much as impact protection as I do because I'm a moleperson. The last time I replaced the lenses on my sadly-departed Half Jackets, it was because I had a big gouge out of one of them where a piece of .45 ACP brass came flying back at me and the rim of the case neck dug into the lens. Didn't break, though, and I still have both my eyeballs.
  13. I won't use glass lenses in sunglasses. I'll take the chance that they'll get scratched when I'm shooting, or mowing, or weedeating, or fishing; because a scratched lens is better than picking shards of glass out of my eyeballs.
  14. Cosigning. I used Revants in my Half Jackets back before I left them in Greensboro accidentally.

The angle makes it a little sketchy, but I'm gonna guess that's every bit a 15" fish.
  16. I used to have a project manager that acted like this. She'd read something somewhere, tell me about it, then ask me what I thought, then she'd take an attitude at every answer I gave her that didn't support whatever notion it was she took about the subject. OP got answers from a lot of people that have caught a lot of fish and, I assume, landed them successfully using whatever net they suggested. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, though; so I'm assuming that he's suffering from analysis paralysis.
  17. For real though, she said she wanted to cast further, so I showed her how to read the ratings and all that on a rod, and told her what specific rod I'd get if I wanted to cast little 1/32 oz jigheads further for little fish like she likes, and she said "Okay I want one." Yes ma'am. You ain't gotta twist my arm.

Absolutely. But it'd sure be fun.
  19. Arky-heads are shaped like so:
  20. She Who Must Be Obeyed loves catching panfish. She'd rather catch a bluegill than just about anything else. And I love when she fishes with me. A little while ago she was griping about the casting distance on the little 5' rod she'd been using, so I got her a 6'6" Celilo. Ordered two because I had a 1000-size reel that didn't have a home, and this would give her a couple lure options she could grab quick if she needed. Anyway, here they are. Spooled with 8lb braid to a 4lb leader. Let's see what she thinks about her casting distance now.
  21. I forgot about it. Turned it on a couple minutes before the end of the second period when everybody was all bunched up with 30-odd pound totals. Did a little more work, then I looked back up and dude doubled the field.
  22. 7.5:1 Tournament MB with 50lb braid.
  23. He apparently decided he was gonna go on and just put this'n to bed.
