6th Sense Curve 55 Questions
I just received a few Curve 55s(3/8oz , dives 5-9 ft)and I was surprised at how small they are. My question for those who use them is, do you throw them on casting or spinning gear, they seem too small and light for any of my cranking set ups. Any advice/info is appreciated.

Recommend to me your go to fluorocarbon
I absolutely love AbrazX for my deep cranking needs, where I crank in the northeast alot of bites happen when the bait makes contact with the bottom, so the AbrazX really shines in terms of abrasion resistance .

Shimano expride or Dobyns champion extreme
Hey I'm very happy with my DX 795 Flip, for flipping an pitching. I throw up to 1.5oz jigs on it and find it more than enough rod for heavy cover.

First deep cranking setup. Megabass f5 or f6
I have a Bantam PG paired with a Dobyns Champion 805CB(graphite, I personally do not like glass) and find it super sensitive and keeps the larger fish pinned down very well.

Anyone else hate super slick
I used the original super slick 8 15lb on an alderbaren 51 (5:8:1) for mid depth cranking with a copolymer leader and I was very happy with it, I had a left over bulk spool of 1500 yards which I just used up, I ordered 300 yards of the new super slick v2 in 20lb to try it out, I have not yet received it, but im hoping it works out well for mid depth cranking.

Differences in JDM and USDM 2020 Metaniums
I have purchased reels from Japantackle. You are right,Jun is a wealth of knowledge and very willing to offer assistance.

Differences in JDM and USDM 2020 Metaniums
This is correct, they would not help me at all with questions about a scorpion and engestu. I wonder if I called Shimano Japan ,do they have someone who speaks English that would answer questions or assist with parts inquiries.

Crankbait reel Curado 200E5 or ?
If you want stay around $120 the Engestu BB (5:5:1) is going for about $100 on ebay, the spool is shallow, so you would need to pick up a Caenan spool from Shimano for another $20. But if your willing to spend $250-$300 the Bantam PG is a great choice.

Your favorite deep diving cranking setup
Absolutely love it for for DD 22s, Mega Bass Deep Six, Little Jon DD 70s and the Duo 15a, I previously used a Chronarch 201 E5 , but this is a superior reel compared to the 201E5(which is still an awesome reel), if I am going to throw heaver than 1oz ill go with the BB1(5:1:1) or a Catalina (4:9:1). I highly recommend it. I like to throw 10 or 12 lb Abraz X.

Your favorite deep diving cranking setup
I switch between a Lews BB1 5:1:1 and a Bantam MGL 5:5:1 paired with a Dobyns 805CB graphite , I also just picked up a Stile SS 5:5:1 paired with a Dobyns 804CB graphite and I am really liking it it for smaller profile Deep Divers.

Major Craft MS-1 Questions
Hi Everyone A majority of my rods are Dobyns, I do have a few Exprides and really like them. I am interested in the Major Craft MS 1, I'm looking at 2 different rods the Major Craft MS-1 Casting Rod 7' Medium and the Major Craft MS-1 Casting Rod 7'3" Med Hvy. I really can't find much in regards to reviews about them, I was thinking the MH for 1/2oz -3/4oz jigs, chatterbaits, squarebills, The M for under 1/2oz. Anyone have any experience with these rods, any input is appreciated.

Best rod for Jigs and crankbaits
I agree, the deep cranking rod needs some give to assist in keeping the trebles in and not ripping the crank out of the fishes mouth upon hook set , but that give is exactly what you don't want when setting the hook and keeping the fish on with the jig. I concur with jigman ,I would buy the rod to match what you would be doing most and get by with the other application.

Need reel for long casts (deep cranking)
I have used a Lews BB1L,Bantam PG and Catalina in varying combinations between a Dobyns Champion 765CB and 805 CB(Graphite only, I personally do not like the feel of glass) with 10lb flouro. The 805 is producing longer casts. Similar to what Jimmyjoe previously said, the crank being used really makes the difference when it comes to casting distance, the ones with a weight transfer system are outperforming those without one when it comes to distance, I have not done much cranking this year because its still spring and the fish here in the northeast have not made their seasonal transition to deep water. But looking back to last year, I have to say the Duo G20a is my top performer when it came to distance, the spro little jon dd 70 and the lucky craft CB 20 are a winners as well. I love my DD 22s , but no weight transfer system really hinders casting distance. Honorable mention goes to the river to sea goon, it casts a mile, but it gives a weird feedback/reception as I am reeling it in , and I don't get many strikes with it.
