how you like your black max, I just picked one up at walmart for the hell of it, seems really nice and casts far, casts lighter lures farther than my 200 dollar revo stx.

Do you have to clean your reels?
So I clean my reels the quick way like take the sideplate and spool off and clean out the dirt and vegetation. I also grease the wormgear and oil the bearings but, do you have to clean the internal gears?? I know some people do this but why? Isn't it mostly sealed? I understand for salt but why freshwater?

Looking for new baitcasting reel
yeah I really should go to a bass pro and hold them and test them in my hand, do you think with COVID they will let you hold them and try them out? I would love to feel the differences

Anyone fish mono to floro?
I did not know bass where not line-shy, I have been reading and I keep hearing that they are in the clearer water but maybe its just to sell the expensive fluorocarbon. I will try this, and will look into some of these line brands I hear you with the blood knot, its really a wierd knot when it comes to line size, when Im trout fishing and do 5 it will slip on 2lb test lol, but on bass if I do 5 it will do good. Im learning so much with the help of you guys, and I really appreciate it!

Anyone fish mono to floro?
thats what I have heard, so so much. I use the blood knot a ton for fly fishing as well, making my tapered leaders. Its such a good knot for anything but braid. Im glad im not sounding wierd by doing mono to floro. the only time the knot has popped on me was when I was snagged.

Looking for new baitcasting reel
I have fished both and I love both, to be honest the only thing I dont like about some cintrifugal breaks is you have to open the sideplate sometimes on the water. but I feel like I get better castability with cintrifugal as well. I think both are good breaking systems and I would think of both as equal.

Anyone fish mono to floro?
so I fish really clear lakes but only really fish mono. I thought for finesse tequiniques would anyone fish with a floro leader to mono? I mean I do it all the time with trout fishing and mono and floro knot better than braid and floro, so I was just curious if anyone does this in clear water lakes?
