  1. I think you might have nailed it, because its much less resistance than any other reel in my arsenal, I just feel a slight geary ticking when reeling super fast which I have felt on some of my other reels as well, this might just be normal and I'm ocd, but every reel I own even of the same lineup does feel a little different, I think you hit it on the head.
  2. I have not encountered it, I have not called shimano because this one is out of japan, I guess I could
  3. I recently picked up a Shimano sahara fj and when switching between left and right side of the handle the left side is smoother than the right side, this is annoying because I retrieve with my right hand, any solutions??? Bought out of Japan so not sure if I want to ship back P.S (only occurs when spool and rotor are pointed up towards sky)
  4. That and you never know what happens on yaliyabba
  5. As a horticulturalist as neat as this would be, reading the article i got a real chuckle, it must be a gag, to grow on a piece of bamboo that can create perfectly shaped pieces of circular metal would never work for a number of scientific reasons, however, you could theoretically buy a bamboo plant that is naturally tapered, train bamboo branches into guides, and insert metal rings inside the bamboo guide, however this amount of effort would be difficult and take many hours of labor, and you would still require metal inserts as installation. To get a better idea of what I'm talking about, look up circus trees. Gmo and GE are the same thing
  6. Yes they can be shallow, slower seems to work better for me. Find baitfish maybe offshore? Not quite sure about your lakes because our southwest coast lakes are unique compared to most the country with trout eaters in a temperate mild climate, but the cold low to high 30s they still seem willing to hit a Huddleston style bait or jig.
  7. Fishing fly rods with weight is frustrating at times, expecially anything over half a gram. Do not false cast more than you need to, cast tremendously lightly, shoot the line instead of false casting.
  8. yes St croix rod is classic, usdm market doesn't have a great selection of UL rods, because bass industry gets too much attention. Jdm has lot more options Diawa presso is moderate fast but good quality usdm. Soare xr is beautiful rod if you schill out the dough for it.
  9. Before doing invasive reel surgery if it has been fished in clean water not sw or fishing frogs in schmuck, just remove sideplate and oil spool bearings, see if that helps. Also removing spool tension knob will expose another spool bearing that might be hard to reach.
  10. I debated posting here, but will try to help. I am studying horticultural science, fertilizer is often not needed as much as many think for most edible plants and ornamental plants in a garden bed. It is generally only required if you are growing too many plants in the same area and growing heavy feeding plants. Fertilizers also can cause many problems, fertilizer promotes lots of young leafy growth which Discourages fruiting and flowering Attracts pests to newly grown leaves Discourages diversity of soil life microbes, because different microbes feed on different things, and dumping bat guano into a garden bed will only attract the few bacteria eating bat guano Petroluem fertilizers make this worse Some fertilizers are also known to pose health risks. Many organic fertilizers put into soil raw and not hot composted can carry parasites from the previous animal into your soil, such as tapeworms. If plants are showing difficiencies in nutrients try watering more because without water plants cannot take nutrients out of the soil. Soil texture is much better changed with carbon over nitrogen, light nitrogen cool composted carbon materials will be your best bet. Tomatoes are even considered invasive to preserves to protect native plants.
  11. The cruising bass are hard to catch, the females looking for beds I think.
  12. Yes its cheating, so don't cheat and let this bait dunker catch more fish than you.
  13. You kind of get a third sense for what you are looking for and get to that point where you don't really care what product guys are peddling, at least that's for me
  14. I use up to a 6000 and extra heavy for big swimbaits and inshore fishing, definitely a little overkill and would probably of been happier with a 4 or 5k, for inshore sw, but it performs well. I got it for surf fishing because there is no reason to be accurate and fight 20-mph winds blowing in your face against a wide open ocean. I personally see no point at times to fish a baitcaster when fishing open water.
  15. You might be right, that makes sense, plus I would have paid 20$ in taxes here I guess. still excellent prices, I picked up the new sahara fj for 53$ no tax Threw in 150$ worth of sticky sharp japanese jigheads and trout spoons, and bass widgets. isn't what it was in October, 123 for a 18 tatula to my door off digitaka, but the Sahara fj interested me though because it has same gearing as vanford now, only thing I'm not huge on is there is no line roller bearing, it also doesnt have the support bearings on the locomotive gear and rides directly on the frame, but I think the new sahara is a competitor against the legalis Regal in exceller, I wish it lost a few more grams but all in all a good looking reel. Plus it has a screw in handle, about time shimano! I wish digitaka did free shipping over 200$ for certain small items.
  16. So true lmao, my card got hacked from TW a year ago and was pretty mad, surprisingly it happened first there over yaliyaba, my yaliyaba package never came but still lol.
  17. Ah I see, I just buy from digitaka so was confused
  18. I just ordered 200$ worth of stuff but was charged 770 yen for a handling fee, was just curious if this is normal thanks!
  19. No, its frustrating because there really should be, for safety reasons, not like I'd ever want to quit BR, but for safety reasons if some wierdo on the internet is trying to doxx you, they will sift for you through websites like this.
  20. (When not fishing from boat) I don't like carrying more than two, and if it's only a few hour trip I perfer one. Bass are not like other fish, you have to move to catch them. I walk at times 4-5 miles around an entire lake...., I don't care if 12lb nylon isn't perfect for a frog, I'm using it
