What's your favorite all around monofilament weight (for casting setups)?
I perfer 12 but often times the assinine gaff of hooks companies put on jigs and spinnerbaits etc force me to upsize to 15lb. For reference, .012inches for 12lb. The reason Generally perfer 12 because 1. Casts further 2. Limper, more managable 3. Thinner line diameter gives lures more natural presentation 4. Sinks quicker

Lures
Good analysis, plus hard baits can have great hookup ratios and having a hardbait lure that has a huge catch streak can be neat.

My most anticipated bait this spring.
If I might ask do you guys swim them actively like a keitech or creep them on bottom Like a jig?

Expedition to Lake Tahoe, looking for intel
Ive been a few times, Many different trout species are in the lake; and it is a huge lake. Even small populations of smb and lmb exist. Classic c rig with powerbait or worm has worked for nearly 100 years, and won't stop anytime soon Expect it to be cold. Some trout strains perfer deep water, others perfer shallow, there is success commonly fishing from shore. Has lots of rocks to snag on also on the bottom, and is tremendously deep in some

Is It weird that….
I hear you, 10lb usdm floro breaks at 15 lbs also, and when it's a really big fish caught over a limb or something we just trolling motor close to get the fish in the boat, but usually the fish comes out without that need.

Is It weird that….
Yeah I completely agree, I really like Texas Rigs and ewg rigged hooks with 10-12lb nylon or floro and I would perfer to fish jigs with that test but it's hard to set the heavy wire hook, I've found a few jig models that do work though. Plus that line doubles over nicely as a crankbait line, or even light wire spinnerbait.

If it works for you go for it I would too if I fished on boats more often but it's so expensive to take them out here

Anything the "PrOs" like I generally don't. Stupid thickHeavy wire hooks... (I want to use lighter line and softer rods to cast further, let it sink deeper and look more natural. Super heavy overkill line techniques Grossly underrated usdm fishing line lb tests that is misleading.... 20lb drag reels on casting equiptment that are not smooth Gimmicky baits or baits that don't seem to even be tank tested before put on the market. Super long rods Anything over 7ft is generally uncomfortable, expecally bank angling. The only thing I do like is a bigger size spinning reel, because it manages the line better than smaller sized reels, however this is only for heavy .009 or .010 inch fishing line which really is pushing it on spinning in the first place. True 6-8lb or braid2leader I use 2500 or 2000 sized reels. This is why I like jdm, because they don't push all this nonsense into alot of their equiptment, ill listen to the guys that have survived on an island eating fish for thousands of years...

Gantarel Jr fin replacements?
Yeah I hear you, I really do love jackall and it's a love hate relationship for this reason.

Gantarel Jr fin replacements?
Was fishing some laydowns, and the both fins came off, I'm assuming in the water. Now it looks like a really bad wakebait. Any reccomendation/fixes would be appreciated, was thinking maybe try to get it to sink, because I can't think of a material to replace the fins with, and jackalls support email never works :/

Acceptable Radial Play in Spool Bearings
Yup, except lews uses nmb, and even some cdm brands use nmb as well.

Braid to fluoro for everything
It is very popular method, if you like it go for it. I perfer straight nylon for versatility but, I know others like a P.E mainline leader system

new Shimano Stradic C3000 spinning reel - "wooshing sound"???
If from bps I would do the same, I got mine for 120$ from digitaka so I'm not to terribly upset, but good choice.

new Shimano Stradic C3000 spinning reel - "wooshing sound"???
Jdm? I have a diawa tatula with the same thing, and a light scuffing at one part of the retrieve brand new out the box. I decided it wasn't worth the hassle to ship it back to Japan so I just have been using it. The light scuffing sound got quieter with use and I put grease on the sshift. Sometimes they come Dry out of the box, sometimes they just aren't all the same.

Best Wacky Rig Hook
I don't know, I like owners mosquito hook or any wide gap short shank circle hook style without the bent inwards hook point.i think they are also called octopus hooks by other brands but not sure For the weedless wacky rig hooks I tie my own on a mosquito hook with fly tying vice

In-Line Spinners...NOT SPINNING...???
If Wire is bent they won't spin well. Gave up on in line spinners a while ago because they only last a few fish before they give more trouble than worth. Also if wire is to thick for clevis it won't spin, and it eye is bent they won't spin. Also when making them too light or weight and blade struggles to get going Crazy that they charge 4$ for some brands of in line spinners, spoons as well, it's not expensive or rocket science to make them but they still overcharge, amazon has pretty good deals on kits of spoons and in line spinners if you look there, chinesium is pretty good these days. Or a small minnow lure that looks more natural is more durable and doesn't twist line is always a win.

BFS Help
Most common aftermarket spools are for shimano or diawa, some bmax3 and bmax4 spools also linger but aren't as nice for the price.
-
Shimano SLX or Lews Speed Spool LFS
Slx, nothing wrong with the lews, slx will just be smoother, cast farther, and feel better longer. Lews has the fancy grips and is lighter weight. Diawa tatula for 30 more bucks is a good option, or the slx xt

Best casting reel for pitching and flipping?
I feel like any reel can work, i am not the greatest fisherman, but can comfortably flip and pitch jigs, t Rigs, and anything else comfortably on a 60-300 dollar reel as close as 5 feet to 40 feet, even a weightless senko. ^^^^^

Buzzbait question?
I see, I was thinking about fishing them in the flooded bushes this spring if shad push up after the spawn, or perhaps even before as you mentioned earlier, any other reccomendations on where to fish a buzzbait?
