Buzzbait question?
Hello friends, so I ordered some buzzbaits and wanted some advice on when and where to use them. My thought process was they could be a better choice than a prop bait In snaggy areas like lay downs, wood, reeds, docks, and submergent grass where they get fouled. Maybe people have other advice for them trailer or no trailer, skirt, good trailer for skipping, etc. Thanks!

High pressure vs Low pressure knots
Lol yeah this is above my pay grade, I remember somebody telling me that the strongest knot is the one you can consistently tie most often, because human error is going to be the biggest problem

Hard Jerkbaits : Bait Cast or Spinning Set Up ?
90mm and 70mm jerkbaits I like spinning, and there's no way I'm throwing a balsa minnow on baitcasting lol, like 110 size maybe a light baitcast rod.

spring lock hook poor hookup ratio?
excellent council! I just did you advice! will let you know how it works, I set three worms up with different amounts of spring taken off to see which one works best, thanks for the troubleshooting as always!

spring lock hook poor hookup ratio?
small little 4 inch finesse straight tail worms, some roboworm, some garry yamamoto cuttertail, some don iovino spade tail, zmans, and sometimes small kalins grubs. specific hook is an owner 1/0 twist lock finesse hook.

spring lock hook poor hookup ratio?
hi there friends, I have noticed that when I use spring lock hooks, expecially in 1/0 or 2/0 have terrible hookups compared to normal ewg hooks, I feel like the spring removes some gap for the bait to collapse and that might be the issue, but im not sure, I might try removing almost all of the spring lock except maybe a loop or two to increase the collapse space, any other ideas could be helpful! thanks

Soft plastics

The Free Rig: Talk to Me About It
It allows for bait to fall through water slower. It also comes through rock better, because of the weight shape.

What tactic have you completely given up on?
Had me cracking up.......

Drop Shot : Short Shank vs. Longer Straight Shank Hooks ?
I can try that, might provide larger bite gap for fish, good idea
-
Drop Shot : Short Shank vs. Longer Straight Shank Hooks ?
I tried it, lost to many gis compared to classic nose hooking, often not enough gap when threading.

How many days did you fish last year?
yup, Often times I do twice a week, but maybe only for an hour or two because thats all the time I have. Its really helped me alot though, helped me learn to fish quick, cover water, pick apart structure fast, tie knots fast but correctly. etc. Spending all day fishing is not usually a weekly option, more like monthly, and if its a hot fishing time of year ill try to squeeze two times a month in. I also learned alot fishing from the bank. I learned what lures work well, and learned some very nice advantages to bank angling, by far the biggest advantage is stealth compared to a bass boat even with talons in clear water. There are far better anglers than me here, but im sure many have experienced smart clear water bass getting spooked by a large boat

Anyone give up on bank fishing local ponds?
I am from sd as well, and all the ponds are heavily heavily pressures hence the username, because A. Few ponds are avaliable to fish B. The ponds that are avaliable get hammered hard If you want any help let me know, Tom's suggestion of the bays are great. SbB are supper easy to catch rockfish and can be caught on crappie to smaller bass lures, Texas Rigs, etc. The fish get brutalized year round, the lakes might be better, but are also beaten to a bloody pulp. Some of our lakes are gen clear 30ft and smart bass, others have slight stain but pretty clear still. f you want some extra help feel free to reach out to me. Watching japanese anglers has helped me catch these fish much better. Mistakes are punished greatly in our fisheries. Fish favorable weather conditions to help fight the pressure, but going in unfavorable weather helps you become stronger angler. Offshore fishing is beat up alot less than shallow living fish, because many bass reside deep in our reservoirs I've found and people without boats just don't touch them

Face scarf/shield
Every single parent and grandparent has said that exact thing, expecially here in SOCAL, and they ALL have skin cancer... And their faces arms are somewhat messed up from the doctors removing and burning off the cancer. I have it even worse, because a few years ago I developed a super wierd condition where any sun exposure in early spring through fall when the sun is bad and I'm out for over 30 minutes I get an allergic reaction to the sun, causing blisters and red rash only on the backs of my hands... I know fishing gloves are a cultural thing and some people make fun of them, but I don't care and am thankful they exist because I would not be able go go outside. Sunscreen does not sadly help at all, only the gloves, I have no idea why, and if I'm out all day it will still happen on fingertips on fingerless gloves, but it's not as bad

The braided line dilemma
Original pp and other 4 strand carriers Yeah I think that is just the way, I was squeezing as much strength out of my braid as I could. I should probably just treat it similarly to its nylon counterpart for diameter, if I want to set my Drag to 10lbs I will just have to buy a braid with heavier diameter similar to true certified igfa 10lb mono Yeah, that is most likely the best bet, I like braid for its suppleness but If I want to use 12lbs of Drag strength I will just have to use a mono diameter of 12lbs in braid instead of using 12lb braid if that makes sense, which would be 40 or 50lb braid I think.
