The braided line dilemma
Many of you might have noticed this, but with braided line, I often find that if I have my drag set to 4 or 5lbs on 6lb braid, it digs in, if I have 20lb braid on a spinning reel, after 8lbs of drag it starts to dig in, even on 65lb braid, if I just hooked into a 4lb bass, half a tree, and some grass my line digs in , so I end up fishing the same drag settings as the mono diameter equivalent. I am generally not worried about this, but expecially with spinning, I start to panic if you are fishing a thin 10lb braid, set your drag too tight, and your line snaps because the fish cannot actually pull line due to it dug into itself and snaps the line. Even nylon does this too if you really try to squeeze every lb of strength it offers out of it. I've tried winding it on super tight but maybe more people have this issue, would love to hear your experiences.

Abu Garcia Revo Ike, worth it?
I don't know, slx xt and tatula are hard to beat, if they brought it down to 100 even perhaps, but slx and tatula are hard to beat. Right now I'm set on casting reels,

Pre spawn weather condition question
Thanks so much excellent info! Thanks so much Tom!!! You have taught me so much and turned me into that guy that threw a senko to hope for a random bite and praying to catching many by learning specialized techniques, bass behavior; and patterns! One question I did have for you is you mentioned bass in Castaic have not moved up yet after this really rainy year we have had, why do you think this is? I tried fishing some of the lakes and they have come up a ton, and fish also seem to be in their same holding areas

Line Question
Super weird I'd never throw 10+ lb nylon on spinning except on my Size 6000 sw spinning reel and super heavy rod

Pre spawn weather condition question

Abu Garcia Revo Ike, worth it?
I have a somewhat old revo stx, It is a good reel, was actually my very first casting reel and was what I practiced on alot. Centrifugal micro adjustment reel, although now i actually perfer magnet breaking reels because they arent as noisy. I have now retired it because I feel as though shimano and diawas even caius and cc80, or tatula and slx, or even curado just feel smother and more refined. Hindsight 2020 If I knew what I know now I'd only buy shimano and diawa reels.

BFS Reels for Average Weight Free Rigs/T-Rigs
I can fish 1 16th oz with 4" straight tail worm on my diawa tatula 100ct if that helps but it's not accurate or far compared to using a dedicated bfs reel.

how long till bass naturally inhabit a man made pond?
I know floods can spread fish around for what that's worth, once every 100 years there can be a massive one, or even smaller ones can flush the fish down seasonal creeks, not here in socal maybe, but where rain is a thing yeah!

Walking a Hollow Body Frog?
I had the same issues, some frogs don't like to walk, I'm no pro and tried the loop knot but it seemed to catch grass more than normal knots.. ended up just being because it was just a bad quality frog

"Dead zone" bass?
thanks! Yeah most of the lakes have deep rock and wood from what I've experienced, there is just one tiny reservoir near me that is similar to the standing timber in SV thats blocked off by rhe boyes, but has much dirtier water and a quarter of it is clay flat bank tapering with featureless bottom. There was a tournament and everyone flipped the wood and fished rockpiles deeper and had good success, but one that fished the lifeless mud clay bank won 2nd. It was like you said, part of a large riverbed inlet that gets alot of runoff.
