Knot question
I recently have been using 20lb big game on one of my saltwater setups. I normally use 5-6 wraps with an improved clinch knot with my bass rods 8-15lb line with no issues.l’m having problems cinching the knot down with 5 wraps with the 20lb big game. Would dropping down to 4 wraps help? I’ve read most people use 5-7 but I’m thinking because the line is heavier I should use less wraps

Is this reel over spooled?
- Line fray
It not the guides I’ve checked. It happens on both my Dobyns fury rods- Line fray
I keep noticing my line is fraying between the 1st and 2nd guide and between the 3rd and 4th guide. Not sure why it’s only happing in these two spots. All other line is fine. I’ve tried different spools and all keep happening with 12 and 15lb big game- Mono
How often do you guys change out your mono? I have a reel that has 12lb mono on since January. It’s been fished on and off once a week since then. It’s not giving me any problems just wondering if I sjluld change it?- Dobyn’s fury
How are these rods? I’ve heard good things looking to pick up two for my kayak. Durable? I’m not too easy on my gear especially in a kayak- Yum dinger
How important is it to hook a hook in the hook slot? Can you hook it on the opposite side of the bait?- Rods and reels in car
I want to fish tomorrow night after work (11pm) I get into work at 3 will my rods, reel, and line (monofilament) be ok in a hot car for 8 hours? Temps are going to be in the 90s- Best keitech easy shiner jighead
What’s the best 1/8oz jighead for 4” easy shiner? The ones I’ve used either had too big of a hook or too small. thanks- Dobyns 703 for chatterbait
Have a fury 703 I want to use for 3/8oz chatterbaits. I know it’s prob a little light but can I make it work?- Yum dinger more durable?
I keep hearing how much more durable dingers are vs a senko, I have found that they are both just as fragile. The dinger holds up better fishing through heavy grass but After every fish caught on the dinger the head seems to always rip when Texas rigging. I don’t wacky rig. I haven’t used dingers in prob 10 years and I don’t remember them being like this. Im Using a 3/0 vmc ewg like I use with all other 5” stick baits- Mono
What’s everyone using these days for spinning? 6-8lb test. Normally a trilene xl guys but haven’t been to happy the last few times I spooled up.- Berkley power worm
When riggings a power worm Texas rigged does it matter if the tail is up or down ?- Zoom baits
I have some bags of zoom plastics, and they are extremely oily almost to the point where they’re slipping out of my hand, when rigging them any ways to get rid of the oil?- Mono vs fluoro
Overall which one is stronger and has better knot strength? Some say fluoro some say mono- Wacky rig line twist?
That could’ve been it. I was making short casts to cover and after the initial fall of reel it in fast to make another cast- Wacky rig line twist?
Went out fishing the other day and was fishing a wacky rig senko on 15lb braid to a short 12lb leader which was connected by using a small #10 spro barrel swivel instead of Alberto knot (not a fan of connection knots). After bringing in the bait in a few times when I was about to make a cast I noticed the line was wrapping around the tip of the rod. I’ve never had this happen before until I started wacky rigging. It didn’t really affect anything but got a bit annoying. Any way to prevent this? Or does wacky rigging just cause a bit of twist- O rings
- O rings
Interest do you put the bait button on the hook to prevent the worm from sliding?- O rings
How’s the hookup ratio with one o ring and hook facing the head or tail of the senko versus having the hook come out the front of the bait criss crossing o rings? I’m horrible at criss crossing the rings and can’t seem to get em to cross. Please don’t reocommend other rings. On a fixed income and my tackle purchasing is tapped out for the year - Line fray
