  1. I use a fury 703c great walking bait rod up to about 3/4oz
  2. Does anyone own the 3000-C? I’ve only seen a 2500 which I liked, but I am wondering if the 3000 is the compact body with larger spool? Is it similar in size to the 3000 tatula LT? I know this is not a shallow spool as it holds 220 yards of 12lb line. Thanks
  3. I’ve never had an issue with braid and topwater. I just use a softer rod and back off on my drag
  4. I’ve always used braid for topwater. Lasts forever, great around grass and no stretch. Does this “topwater” line Behave like a low memory mono?
  5. Spool looks overfilled and the line looks a bit loose probably from retrieving slack line while fishing. I would also ditch big game on a spinning reel and use 6-8lb trilene xl or 15lb braid
  6. I would return a reel if it wasn’t working properly out of the box
  7. Do my 200 acre lake can only support 1200 bass?
  8. I use tungsten for the smaller size and it never frays my line.
  9. The dobyns 703 or 733 will be fine for cranks even if you don’t use a “stretchier” line. I have no problems pulling hooks
  10. Why are you so concerned about stretchy line? Just fish what you have, fluoro stretches the same if not more than mono. I fish mono and braid for everything including cranks and catch plenty of fish and I don’t even own a “cranking” rod
  11. I didn’t like my fury 705cb at all for shallow cranking. I returned it and just use my fury 703. Great shallow crank rod. It’s also a great trap rod around grass and topwater. This rod can do a lot
  12. You’re overthinking it. Pick a light color and dark color and go fishing.
  13. I always fish 2 on 2 off and set the dial between 3-6 depending on the wind And what type of bait I’m throwing. Anytime I went below 3 on the dial I backlashed. If I were you I would play around with the spool tension which would help with distance. Once you dial this reel in it is sort of a “set it and forget” kind of reel with the exception of adjusting the Outside dial
  14. I own the same combos also a stradic. Highly recommend
  15. I have to hold the tip up with all whopper ploppers
  16. How much drag do you honestly need? lol I never understood why so many people buy a reel meant for 6-8lb line and think they need 20lbs of drag. Marketing I guess
  17. If you’re fishing around any sort of grass I would go medium power over the medium light
  18. I bought a boxed one and a clam pack one. Both were good reels
  19. 15lb braid is the most versatile for spinning. I use original power pro
  20. Thanks after bringing it inside and letting it cool it seemed to have gotten a bit better
  21. I was fishing and left my rod in the car for a few hours and the rubber handle knob on my stradic is very sticky. Almost as if the rubber began to start melting from the heat. Anyone else experience this?
