  1. Has anyone else had a problem with the drag knob becoming looser while fishing? I was fishing today and after about an hour and half of fishing pulled my drag and it was looser than what I set it at
  2. Either or. I Personally would use 30 though
  3. Nope I do it all the time and usually get some response like “there’s more than 10 fish in the lake”
  4. I run 2500s but if fishing mono or fluoro I wouldn’t hesitate to go with a lightweight 4000 sized reel that has a larger spool diameter which will help with line management.
  5. Rarely happens to me but I don’t fish braid much. Wind, line type, and the way you “pop” the rod all play a factor
  6. Sounds like you’re over thinking this too much. Pick your favorite paddle tail and be done with it
  7. Pulling the tag end of a clinch knot isn’t necessary. I hold the tag end in my mouth with my hand on the hook or lure and slowly draw the knot up tight by pulling the main line. palomar knot I draw both the main line and tag end tight, then pull the tag end by itself then the main line by itself.
  8. Line visibility is one of the last things I’d be concerned about. I use leaders mainly for ease of breaking off and abrasion resistance. Fishing around lots of grass never use a leader
  9. Improved clinch 5-6 wraps. Never Had one fail
  10. I haven’t but people around here use them all the time to fish the beaches
  11. Rattle trap, spinnerbait, crank and small swimbait as mentioned above. If you’re not getting bit on those I’d slow down with a jig or a plastic
  12. This happened with two fuego CT’s I bought. I bought a 7 speed and 8 speed. The 7 was buttery smooth but the 8 felt less smooth. I just dealt with it, never knew what the problem was. Must be quality control issues
  13. Bass pro is doing this too, I normally order from TW but was in a hurry and bass pro has free two day shipping on orders over $50. I just ordered senkos, tungsten, a spool of line and some ned rig heads. They shipped the senkos in two different packages and the other stuff will be sent in another package. A $60 order shipped out into three separate packages
  14. Finesse baits on small jig heads or a light Texas rig
  15. hands down a medium power rod for 1/4oz, wouldnt even consider a medium light
  16. I would take it off and respool it back on tight. Sounds like it’s digging into itself
  17. I’ve had lead and steel/brass fray my line. 100% tungsten user here for that reason. The smaller size doesn’t hurt either
  18. Never tried sunline but have read a lot of bad reviews on it, but that’s like anything. Guess I will have to try it The price is the only reason I wanna try bps excel. $10 for 1200 yards. I fish and need to respool a lot
  19. Thanks. Would you say it handles similar to trilene xl?
  20. Is this stuff any good? I’m normally a 8lb trilene XL user on my spinning reels but I was just browsing bass pro and wanting to try something different and found a 1500 yard spool for $10. I did some research and I’ve read it is made by trilene. I believe I may have used this mono about twenty years ago but just wanna see if anyone out there is using this. For those who still fish mono what are you guys using on your spinning reels?
  21. Awesome. Enjoy! Much better fishing up there
  22. I emailed them about it and they said it’s due to minimal staff
  23. nice Long Island chunks
  24. This^ Although I much prefer the 734 over the 704. The 704 has a slower taper which I did not like for jig fishing.
  25. Really depends on the lake but I would start with a spinnerbait or trap and if that doesn’t work fish slow with a jig and a ned rig
