  1. I’m only going back two years to keep it easy. About $1000 in rods reels, $700-$800 in lures. That’s about a simple as I can make it I think.
  2. The last of my orders is slowly coming in for the season until I’m all stocked up! Very excited. The wife called in an order for me to get her those two swim baits at the top. I’m not gonna lie they do look impressive and videos online show them hovering nose down. The brand is 10,000 Fish. Also picked up a couple of G-Money football jigs in white/purple and some baby craws.
  3. This is my approach as well.
  4. Bank fisherman…why is it so hard to pack a tackle bag? I have a rather large bag that holds all of my tackle for bank fishing and I don’t care how many times I try, I cannot keep this bag in a simple state of storage. I keep Three water proof Plano boxes in it. One box for jigs, one box for terminal tackle and one box for chatterbaits. Sounds simple enough and not too bad. But what about the 400 packs of soft plastics that I can’t help wanting to stuff out the rest of the bag with? It’s like FOMO with fishing tackle at its worst. I’m going to try and pack three packs of worms for shakey head, three packs of creatures for T-Rig and three packs of trailer plastics. I do keep an extra spool ready to go as well. This struggle is very real.
  5. Much the same reason as @MN Fisher I do prefer lake and pond over river. Plus I live closer to them than the river.
  6. I bought one of the bionic blades last year 6’9” medium light and put my tatula 100 on it. I tied on a sweet beaver t-rigged and hooked what looked like a 3ish lb bass and the hook set broke the rod about eight inches down from the top. Warranty was going to replace it but I opted to return it and took the credit to a carbonlite 2.0 and it is great.
  7. Glass half full is that you put a healthy deposit into the Karma Bank. I am a firm believer in karma and even though you ended up coming out of pocket for gas and time to do the right thing, it will shine on you down the road.
  8. These pics are a mix of my TW order and the Tackle Supply Depot sale and my siebert outdoors order. I also received my 6’6 M Abu Vendetta rod(not pictured). Mostly soft plastics minus the jigs. I can’t wait to try the awesome @Siebert Outdoors jigs!! I got the gridiron package in 3/8 and they look amazing!! The stove top pic was the tackle supply depot order and it has some Karl’s plastics and 10,000 Fishing plastics that I didn’t realize I put there.
  9. Zoom Trick worm in June bug.
  10. Revo SX. Mine had the Korea sticker on it. The Sweden made ones are in the $300+ bracket I think.
  11. Sorry for the late reply guys it has been a VERY long day at work. I picked up (2) of the Berkeley Big Game 1100yd spools from tackle supply depot for about $3 each. It’s gonna get used for sure. Thank you guys so much!! edit: I got the spools in 12# because it’s what was left in stock with the store closing sale.
  12. The side plate on the Abu kept coming off mid cast and I returned it. The Lews I still have because it technically works but the side plate on it doesn’t seat all the way when closed and there’s an annoying little gap in it.
  13. Well to be fair…my only Negative experiences have been with Abu and Lews. Diawa has held up the best straight out of the box so far with no problems to report and I plan on giving shimano a chance soon too.
  14. Thinking about trying mono in place of FC on my rigs and was wondering. I fish for bass.
  15. Lures that are to be used at certain times by far and away is my bias. Bass and fish in general in my experience will take to opportunistic chances on anything that may present itself as a meal especially if it’s something new to them within their environment. I’ve been told my whole life there are times when one or two particular lures will catch more at a certain time than others only to have a completely different type or style of lure end up doing all the catching. I almost feel compelled to use the polar opposite lures at those times and more so than not it has worked just using them out of spite.
  16. I’m still a small fry in terms of my rookie numbers, but my PB is still in the 4# area and it was caught on a freakin Whopper Plopper of all things. This was last year too. My wife had bought me an Abu Revo ALF for our anniversary(garbage reel, but that’s another story) so I slapped it on a spare rod I had and tied on the bone colored WP and about five casts in and maybe five feet off the bank on the retrieve, the bass bombed it. How about you guys?
  17. I bought the 3500 size of that bag on cleareance at my local Walmart last month for $10. It has become my ultra light tackle bag holding my rooster tails and small under spins in.
  18. Zoom Fluke here as well. The chatterbait and swim jig are recent converts in my gear that have taken fish so I can’t name them.
  19. Same place but different area of same place. I love bank fishing from my local lake. I can fish up and down the banks as far as miles if I wanted to. I get to enjoy the hike in nature at the same time which is a bonus. Plus getting there on foot makes it feel like my little slice of heaven.
  20. Fellow bait monkey victims. I got got last night. 6’6” Medium/Fast Abu Vendetta Casting Rod. It was on clearance on TW last night for $59.99 and I already have an Abu Revo ALF to mount on it. What lures/techniques are good for a rod like this? If it were yours what would you use it for? I created a thread the other day about having nothing but 7’ MHF rods in my arsenal so I know nothing really about the usefulness of this rod I just bought except that I may use it for finesse jigs smaller spinner baits. edit: this brand of rod I already have three of in longer lengths so I’m happy with the quality for the price point.
  21. 3 of the 5 are the same brand while the last two are a carbon lite and a lews.
  22. Yes, I do have that issue as well. I have a near 30 mile drive to get to BPS from my house and while some may think that’s not far at all, it’s inconvenient for me. My local mom and pop tackle shop closed up last month for good and they carried everything that I use and it was only about eight minutes from the house.
  23. Stik-O! That’s what I meant thank you for that. I much definitely prefer them to the double in price Yamamotos.
  24. Well to be completely honest I was beginning to feel that I may be able to feel a bite or something a lot better If I were to buy a different type of rod. I knew from the get go when I started researching bait casting and the rods and such that the 7’ MHF was the Swiss Army knife of rods so I think I let that sink in real good.
