  1. You could try this product and yes you can tie it.....https://aquateko.com/products/knot-2-kinky-single-strand-nickel-titanium-leader-wire
  2. Have a 16 MGL XG and still waiting for the famous buzz......have bought the gear set and it still sets in the package unopened. You might want to try ZPI F-O Medium Grease like how it performs on the main and pinion gears.
  3. 19 Antares on the right 16 DC on the left
  4. That would be sweet but they just did the Antares DC upgrade in 16 and the Monster Drive version in 18.....haven't seen anything on the radar screen for what you are asking.....
  5. No it is not....the 19 Antares is smaller.
  6. That is exactly what happens if you do not pay attention to " The Monkey " , have had that Gorilla in my presence more than once.
  7. The Bantam is to low profile what the Conquest is to the round......very solid .
  8. Poison Glorious Greyhound......going to be employed for larger top water.
  9. OB you need fine tune the "Hunt" ....there are deals out there every day , you just need to spend time looking for them. This upcoming weekend the online guys will be offering all kinds of discounts and the key is although they say xxxxxx brand is not included call them. Check out other forums , e-bay , JDM sites and if there is a specific item you are looking for do an online search. The harder you look the easier you will find what you are looking for and at the same time create a network of your own.....with all that said be patient just because you didn't find it today does not mean you will not find it tomorrow .
  10. Looking like May now.....
  11. Just for the record Conquest are made for bass fishing if I was flipping channel cats at 10 lbs. and carp at 17 well then my Loomis Pro Blues would be on the deck....but then again I thought we were talking about bass fishing which is what a Conquest excels at just like you stated........
  12. Always find these threads to be very comical......Do you really worry about what others think about your gear , if you are on the water and having fun then that is all that matters. Happen to be one of those who knows expensive gear is not required to catch fish however that is what I prefer and enjoy using. Have a fishing buddy who loves his 10.00/20.00 clearance priced rods all the while catching his fair share of fish. Now our days on the water are full of laughter as balls get busted big time and especially when he snaps one of those rods and loses a 5lb. brown fish. What is important and always has been important is the enjoyment fishing brings not to mention the stress it relieves.....@J Francho aka The "Crass Angler" can certainly attest to the fun and laughter that is had on the boat along with the characters involved...
  13. There is absolutely nothing wrong with your post , I for one am in the camp as a non consumer of Rem oil for my reels either. However like this thread and like many before it , it just goes to show you people have different points of view on what works and what does not. Case in point when a new reel arrives it comes out of the box and is completely torn down , degreased , every bearing including the handle knob bearings are soaked in acetone , gears get polished along with any other friction points and then it gets treated with the oils and grease of my choice. Now I know there are those that think it is not needed especially with a new reel and that is fine. However if you see the amount of grease that comes off a reel especially the bearings you know they just are not performing to their optimum. So back to my point that is what works for me and to others it is just not needed which works for both camps.....So don't beat yourself up you did nothing wrong.....
  14. Congrats ....it is a sweet little reel. Just completed a complete tear down and there are certainly some changes in the new Antares compared to the pre existing. You may want to order a bearing for the worm shaft to replace the bushing but other than that it is solid...... Both models are scheduled for release in April......
  15. It will be a while before I can answer that , being up in the Adirondacks it is still full scale winter up here . Just ask these guys .......
  16. James not sure I would make that statement considering when you eyeball the reel feet the Bantam sticks up a little higher not by much but higher....with that said I will be glad to mount them on the same stick and go from there with pic's.....
  17. Just for the record the offset is on the handle not the drag star.....so for now plan on a spacer.
  18. This reel will be getting a complete tear down and will be posting the internals for those interested.....certainly needs a little porting and polishing and of course all the special sauce's added once the factory lubes are dissolved .......
  19. On a Conquest MBR 782C.......
  20. Not me ...small hands here It's only an 84 , not happy about that. Mounted on a PG Cover Trap......
  21. Took the 19 Antares out of the box and felt it lined up with a 18 Bantam MGL ....it is by far the smallest Antares ever.
  22. https://japanlureshop.com/
  23. Thinking a lot of people are going to be surprised about the size of it. I took some pictures along side a 18 Bantam MGL which I will be putting up real soon. Very sweet little reel......
  24. First of all congratulations on your new DC reel, been a fan since they first came out and the technology just keeps getting better. If you like the 3 power of Loomis you might want to take a look at an NRX 803C , NRX 893C and the Conquest 843C . Very light and sensitive bottom contact rods that just don't quit making them a joy to fish with....
