New sheriff in town - stickbait content
Caught a few more bass this morning, using the same exact worm (!) in Green Pumpkin. After catching about 15 decent sized - mostly 2-3 lbs - bass with it, the bait is still going strong which I find it quite amazing. Granted that I'm using a wacky saddle with the worm, but still. Another victim of Baton, and she appears to be about 3 lbs.

New sheriff in town - stickbait content
With Senkos, I'd Texas rig them most of the time for some reason or other. The Baton, however, is designed specially for wacky rigging. I've been meaning to try it on Neko rig, but with so much success I've been having lately with wacky style I just don't see any reason to try something different. Here is the write up from Riot bait website; https://www.riotbaits.com/product/baton/

I like Senkos too, but we all know it just doesn't last long. At times, it's a "one hit wonder;" after just one use it gets torn up rendering it useless. Enter Riot bait's Baton. Its tri-hump body has very inviting action that attracts bass, and I've been killing it this year. I'm catching bass after bass, and I'm still using the same ol'bait that I started with. You can't beat that with a "stick" - pun intended.

Anyone still throwing a single Colorado blade spinnerbait?
Do you have the link please? I'm getting something that's not even close to fishing tackle.

What brand is that?

Anyone still throwing a single Colorado blade spinnerbait?
It appears that Mr. Bill Dance seems to favor the said spinnerbait. Most folks nowadays are throwing a double willow rather than a single blade. I think I need to start throwing some single blades again based on this video. What do you favor - size, trailer, color etc - and why? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyXMIjTruO0

Most productive color combinations for Jigs?
Grid Iron/Dredge/Extreme Arky Mata Jig/Extreme Brush Mata Jig/ In what applications do you use those jigs? Are they pitching jigs? I use swim jigs at times so I know what they are, and how they are supposed to be used, but I'm not too sure about those other jigs with fancy names. Can you swim them also? A little write up/description might help a novice like me. Thank you.

Pre-made. At Baskin-Robbins, yes, but not this.

Looking at my options at Siebert website, and they've every color in the rainbow, and then some What works (color, wt), and what should I avoid?

Strike King Cut-R
Hmm. I can't find those slits on mine (7 inch version). Older version perhaps, and that may be why they were on sale? I'm ok w/o them - just wondering.

Good rain gear?
Not sure if this is the right place to ask. I was fishing all day in steady rain, and it turns out that my make shift rain gear didn't hold up so well. It's not a fun time to get sick these days either so I think it's time that I invest in something that'll keep me warm, dry, w/o breaking the bank. I found these two, and am wondering if there is something even better out there, and of course cheaper? https://aftco.com/products/solitude-fishing-jackets-waterproof#shopify-product-reviews https://aftco.com/products/reaper-windproof-fishing-jacket

Swimming Worm
Well, here is the answer. Man, they were killing it - Texas rigged w/ 1/4 tungsten - today, and now I'm a believer. I'll be using my seven inchers from now on

Swimming Worm
Do you use the NED version, and if you do, do you use it any different or non-conventional way?
-
Swimming Worm
I meant to buy 6" so obviously it was a mistake as I don't typically throw anything that bulky Well, we'll find out of its capability soon enough! Stay tuned...

I had no idea. Thank you, bossman!

Swimming Worm
I just received a boxful of Rage Cut-R of both short (3 in) and larger version (7 in). Not sure how I'm going to use the shorter version although it's a Ned bait. The larger version looks large enough to go weightless. Well, I can't wait to try them tomorrow. I'd also like to thank my dog, Beck, for tipping me off when the box was delivered. It's never good when you have to explain....

Swimming Worm
So, who has the "best price" on those swimming worms these days?
-
Swimming Worm
Appreciate that, Mike. I will change my routine next time I'm out there, and will definitely try that "quick turn" trick which I've used on a crankbait in the past, but never on a worm. Sounds like a winner!

Swimming Worm
When you say swim, do you jerk it or just add a slight twitch to a presentation? Sometimes I'd use 1/4 oz weight - is that too heavy for either of those applications? I'm thinking about maybe using 1/8 or even 1/16 when the water warms up a bit.

Swimming Worm
Can you buzz them topwater with weight? I guess you'd have to reel it in pretty fast? I recently caught a couple decent size bass with Rage Cut R - for the first time with it! - by just reeling it in slowly. I need to try the other tricks next time, though.

Swimming Worm
Do you just swim it or twitch it or drag it across the bottom? Ever use one w/o weight? Any favorite color while I'm at it?

Slippery braid?
I've never experienced anything like that with mono. I started using braid just last year, and it was working fine till yesterday. Is it braid doing the trick?
-
Slippery braid?
Yesterday, I was using a weightless creature bait at a local pond. After about five minutes of casting, braid kept slipping from between my casting finger and the rod when I was loading the rod. My spinning reel has the proper mono backing with added braid on top and looks pretty tight. So, what am I doing wrong?

What size hook, and weight do you suggest? Spinning or baitcaster?
