  1. Ok, who do you think makes the "best" Buzzbait and Tubes? Looking for a fall season buzzbait, and finesse tubes. Thank you!
  2. I guess you lived near Baltimore county but I suppose Maine is a better place to be especially for fishing anyway. I just don't care for Maine winter, but that's just me. I I'm planning on hitting those reservoirs next year since I just got myself a new boat. Appreciate the pic and that's how I rig sometimes. I'm usually on the fence about whether to use a weight or not, however. I will definitely use my Senko copies next time I'm on Seneca Lake. Truly appreciate your input!
  3. Is it weightless stickbaits or w/weights? Where in MD did you grow up?
  4. Ah, I did not try those!! Dang it....
  5. Perhaps I had too many "options" in my tackle box, I don't know. We were at a popular lake called Little Seneca here in MD, and in about eight hours of fishing we only caught one fish. Condition was tough as the temperature was hovering around 50(!) in the morning which is about 20 degrees below norm. The lake still has full of grass on the bottom;after every cast you basically bring back a good chunk of Hydrilla. My Q is what lure(s) would you throw in that condition? The only bass we caught was on a Whopper Plopper, and I started off with; swimjig, crankbaits, creature baits, and some drop shotting. Nothing.
  6. Do you guys still use it? I have a few (black/chartreuse) sitting in my tackle box collecting dust since I never gave'em much love. I'm planning on using them when bites are hard to come by;like now since we just had a cold front and fish are not cooperating. So, what brand/color/size do you recommend?
  7. But do they know that you're, uh, stealing one/two from them? I have two daughters too, and just convinced them to surrender two for their ol'man.
  8. Obviously, I use a hook keeper for hooks, but where do you place your dropshot weight? It's constantly dangling, and tangles with other rods which drives me nuts. I tried elec tape, but it doesn't stay on for long. Is there a better option?
  9. For baby Menace, do you use 1/4 ounce as well or lighter?
  10. Indeed, sir! Btw, did you catch any today?
  11. Well, well, coming from the man - who has two of everything - himself, and why am I not surprised.
  12. I just got a couple rods with the said guides, and they are, uh, different than what I'm used to. I can basically "feel" what my lure is doing under water which is quite amazing. But do they help me catch more fish? Well, I can't answer that question just yet. Also, due to some NET rumors about their fragility, I've sleeves on those rods; basically babying them, and that part I'm not too crazy about. So, what's your personal experiences/opinions about them?
  13. Well, I'm one of those guys who can't walk and chew gum at the same time. The FG knot looks pretty daunting to say the least, and I only have two hands. I'll work on a doubled Alberto knot since I can do a "regular" Alberto knot.
  14. Hmm. Not strong enough for baitcasters?
  15. It appears to be stronger than a "regular Alberto" knot, but looks a bit bulky. I have AGS guides on my rods, and am wondering if the knot will go through the guides w/o any issue. Another knot w/another name!! LOL Looks great, though!
  16. Ok, what is a doubled Alberto? Do you make one extra loop before you proceed with the knot?
  17. Which is your favorite knot and why?
  18. Just found this thread, and it’s a technique that I’ve never tried be cause I was/am clueless with those spider heads. What equipment (bait/spinning, lines, weight etc) do you use? What size snap, and what brand? Is this seasonal or all year around?
  19. Which RAM mount will fit the said unit? Thank you!
  20. Which model is "better" or do you prefer? I'm looking at both 7'3" XH (for frogging) and 7'6" Heavy rods (for TX rigging). I must say that I'm impressed with 7'6" Elite AGS spinning rod that I have for its sensitivity and stiff backbone to handle strong fish. I've no experience with Daiwa's casting models, however. Also, I hear AGS guides are not durable which makes me extra careful about handling my rod, but that takes fun away from fishing. I take good care of my gear, but at the same time, I don't want to baby them either. Anyway, what say you?
  21. Where can I buy them? The ones that I've checked are out of stock(?), and I'm not even sure they are still making them. If not, where can I buy that particular weight so I can make my own? Thank you in advance!
