  1. How much line do you have on the reel? If it’s not much, that can be an issue.
  2. No. That reel has 12 lb YZH. My frogging is normally close and not in heavy cover.
  3. Too many to recall lol.
  4. Well, not so much swapping reels between two rods out on the boat, but close to your scenario. I have a Fuego CT on a HF that will likely see infrequent use, and I have a new MHF rod on the way that will see more frequent use. I was thinking of just keeping the reel on the MHF and on the occasion I want the HF for frogs or larger swimbaits, just swap the reel. It’s a thought.
  5. I’m asking as I have a HF that will see limited use, but have a MHF that will see much more action, and I’m contemplating swapping a Fuego CT between them vs purchasing another separate reel.
  6. I know I like spinning and baitcasting rigs all set and ready to go. But that can $$$ for some folks. Do any of you swap reels between different rods to save $$$?
  7. My wife is the real wine lover. She definitely prefers NZ Sauvignon blancs. She says they are crisper and more acidic. As long as she likes them, I’m good with it!
  8. Try a decent Sauvignon blanc. Especially New Zealand wines. Very crisp and pairs well with pork. Kim Crawford or Monkey Bay are two decent examples.
  9. That’s good advice. But...it is a truth that not everyone has the budget, the storage space, or even the simple desire to own 10, 15 or 20 rods to throw specific presentations. Some some do need to know which rigs are better suited for fishing a few different presentations reasonably well.
  10. As long as it ain’t raining, I’m good!
  11. I was there. Just a tad too young for that, though! ?
  12. If you are going to fish big swimbaits or frogs in heavy cover, I’d get a HF. Otherwise a MHF covers most bases.
  13. I remember that from the 70s. Jus’ sayin’......
  14. 3 lbs is (to me) the start of a good fish. And they often fight above their weight. I’m always happy catching 3 lb’ers!
  15. An oldie-but-goodie is grabbing the handle of your old-style tackle box and picking it up...only to discover you forgot to latch it closed. And watch in horror as all your lures and tackle tumble out.
  16. I was torn between a St. Croix Mojo Bass or a Dobyns Fury, but I was not finding what I wanted in power, action and length. This is just what I wanted. 7’, MH/F and split cork grips. If they are as nice as I hear, the grips should be great.
  17. I read a lot of reviews and they seem like a higher-end rod than that price point. Looking forward to getting my hands on it Friday.
  18. Been hemming and hawing between rods and decided to try a Falcon Lowrider. Just ordered a LFC-7MHF to pair with a Daiwa Fuego CT. Going to make it my main worm rod (for now).
  19. When I drove my ‘05 Dodge Ram 1500 QC 4x4 home, my wife asked “are you really going to drive that truck in the woods?” ”I’m a hunter, babe. That’s why I bought it!” I take care of my gear, but I use it!
  20. Sounds good. Most of my worm hooks are 3/0 anyway.
  21. Ok, now those look good!
  22. Might’ve missed it. Which hook are you referring to?
  23. A silver anniversary is an achievement! Especially as many sites get sold or mismanaged and go downhill. Granted, I was not here 25 years ago, but as this site is one of (if not the) best sites I’ve seen at the present, hats off to you, Glenn, and your moderators. Although I’m living in Texas now after 58 years in Maryland (minus three years in Delaware), and although I’ve never fished there, I remember reading articles in various magazines starting in the 70s about Lake Toho in Florida, so I’ll vote for that.
  24. “Give ‘em a centimeter and they’ll take a kilometer” ”I can see for kilometers, kilometers, kilometers and kilometers” ”I’d walk a kilometer for a Camel” “Nice bass! 1.5 kilos!” Nah. No panache!
