Gold Almost Orange LM Bass
The bass in some of the lakes get a yellow tint to them, but its not that bright.

Lure ID Please
This wont be too much help, but the first kind of looks like a bomber to me. Is hard to tell exactly what either the jig or trailer is because the skirts hiding the body of the trailer and the trailer is hiding the hook and keeper of the jig. A Gene Larew Hammer Craw would be a great alternative to that trailer.

Can you help me w Carolina rig?
C rigs dont work well around here, very little hard bottom and shallow. I do use mojo rigs and have had lots of success.

Boga Grip
Ropes and paracord are no good, they just get in the way and tangle in everything coil lanyards are the way to go. If your clipping it to a bag, order a good lanyard and clip it on the boga lanyard. Then attach a carbiner or ring to your bag and use the jaws of the boga to clip it to the ring/carabineer. Its much easier to get to it and detach it with one hand that instead of fumbling with a carabineer that's attached to boga lanyard. Without a bag you really have 3 options. 1) you just attach a coil lanyard to the boga lanyard and keep the boga in your back pocket. 2)you just clip the jaws to a belt loop which works but its still going to bounce around. Your not going to hurt the boga but its not comfortable. 3)just get a boga holster, aqua skins makes one that isnt bad.

A week? Try coming back in 30 or 45 seconds you would get the same result with a stock pointer.

HMG vs Phenix Maxim
Personally I would go with the Maxim over the older HMG for sure. Contact 13 about that broken rod, they will most likely replace it even if its your fault it broke.

Curado MGL 70 vs 150 - which one would you choose and why?
Having a smaller framed reel on a JB outfit makes a huge difference for me. I haven't handled the 70mgl or 150mgl, but if I had to pick between the 2 it would be the 70mgl. The only other reel I would recommend would be a JDM Met B. Its a little over your budget @280$ish but man its a sweet reel.

Fall grass
If your fishing a grass like milfoil or hidrilla this time of year you want to focus on the healthy bright green grass and not the darker dead grass.

Extreme Advice
Theres a lake by house that is similar, it has a small fish population for its size, receives an incredible amount of fishing pressure and usually has 6"-18" viz. Every fish you catch you have to earn, they're are good days every now and then but for the most part its always a grind. Try downsizing along with using something more subtle. Instead of using a real aggressive SB, throw a shad rap or a silent SB at the very least. Since they see a ton of spinner/chatterbaits, dont throw them unless you have some cloud cover and or wind. When you do throw them make them look different, trim the skirt down to tighten up the profile and color in chatterbait blades with a black sharpie. I know it was mentioned earlier, but those little pond magic booyahs can really do some damage. On days where you dont have the wind/clouds or they just aren't responding to cranks or spinner/chatterbaits go with a really compact swimjig. There are a few really good ones, but the past few months Ive come to depend on the Greenfish Chibi swim jig with a swimming fluke jr on it. Its got a light wire hook and a thin weedguard which makes it a bad choice for cover, but its excellent for sparse cover and open water. The hook penetrates so well most of the time the fish hook themselves, just make sure to use a M power rod or set your drag accordingly so it doesn't open the hook. It just gets bit when other swimjigs wont and it gets a bigger bite on average then a swimbait of equal size.

Fall Fishing, Grass Edge or in the Thick of it
It seems like the majority of fish around here start to favor hard cover as the amount of healthy grass decreases. You can still catch fish in grass, but dont waste too much time dying grass look for the brighter colored healthy grass. I usually fish the outside of it from a distance with a moving bait that wont snag up and blow the spot out like a swim jig. As I work my way closer Ill pick it apart from the outside first with a T rig or flipping jig.

Fall Fishing, Grass Edge or in the Thick of it
It was 53 last night, which is probably the coolest its been in since May. Night time temps and shorter days is what gets the fish to transition here. It usually starts late August or early Sept and really starts to pick up as the nights get cooler.

Texas Rig Retrieve
I try to avoid pegging the weight whenever possible. The peg helps the rig get through cover or grass easier.

Wow, sorry about that I meant LC I've got Daiwa on the brain. I've been combing every USDM and JDM site for a particular finesse surf rod for days and its been impossible to find. It takes a half or a little more then half of a suspend strip depending on the JB for whatever reason they all have slightly different balance. Its not just LC either, Vision 110s/Jrs, Duo JBS/Rozantes, Xraps are labeled SP but stock they have a slow rise.

What are you throwing right now?
If there has been enough wind and or clouds in the evening the chatterbait bite has been getting good. Otherwise its the swimjig that's been producing the best fish. Here the bigger fish are definitely on the move, the 3rd day before the new moon corresponded with a drop in pressure rain/wind and the reaction bite was full on.

If you cast a stock pointer out and work it to the middle of cast where its at its deepest then pause, it will float to the top in 30 seconds or less. That's why Daiwa refers to them as a slow suspend.

Question about…slip bobbers
My float and fly rig works hard during the coldest weeks of the year. The slip float is the most efficient to go about it IMO. The style or size stop actually depends on the bobber your using. I found the thread stops along with a bead to work the best in any case. Most of the time Im using 1/64 or 1/80, the biggest I usually go is 1/32 and rarely 1/16. If your having trouble getting the line to slip through the bobber with the super light jigs its and easy fix. Just use a FC leader at the end of your main line, the density of the FC will help the line slip through. You can either use a longer leader and tie the stop on it or use a shorter leader and tie the stop to your mainline depending on how deep you want to fish.

Out of the box they float to the top in January when the water is 36 and they float to the top in August when its 83. It may take 5 or 6 seconds depending on the depth and ROR but they all float.

Which would you buy? SLX, Veritas, Mach
I have the 7' MH F SLX and while its not a bad rod, I just don't like it. Its closer to an XF then F which helps with sensitivity and accuracy casting lighter baits short distances but hurts overall casting distance even with baits in the rods sweet spot. The reel seat has hard lines on it which isnt comfortable. My biggest issue is the rod is incredibly tip heavy even with a heavy reel. If your looking for an all purpose rod I wouldn't recommend the 7' MH F SLX. You can get 15% off most rods at TW until the 7th, but its hard to beat a Veritas for 50$

JBs that are labeled sp (suspending) don't really suspend. Right out the package most sp JBs start to float as soon as they stop moving. The pointer minnows float to the top fairly quick.

EWG Ned jigs
Flatlands, Lifteds, Zmans finesse bulltets, Owner finesse ball #1 and a few more. If your swimming the bait the finesse bullets are fine, but that head design doesn't really allow the bait to stand up at more then a 45* angle. The Owner finesse ballhead is similar to the zman bullet it just has a ball head, so it works better on the bottom but the line tie makes it hard for the bait to stand up straight. The Flatlands and Lifted heads use Gamakatsu and VMC hooks respectively, other then that they are similar. As a general rule I would take a Gami over VMC 100% of the time except in this case the 1/0 VMC is a little smaller then the Gami 1/0 and it fits TRD sized baits a little better. The 1 head that I want to try is the newer Zman EWG shroom head.

EWG Ned jigs
They dont snag nearly as much as an open hook. I hesitated to use them at first because I didn't that heavier hook would allow the bait to stand up. I found as long as you match the hook to the bait it stand up fine, no bigger then a 1/0 for a TRD.

Swim jig trailers
I know what you mean. It would be nice to see a black and AYU color. 13s pleasure shad has good roll. Havent tried the churro but its supposed to have lots of roll too.

One line for Texas Rigs and Buzzbait?
I throw buzz baits with my 7'2 MH t rig rod on FC and it works out pretty well. I like 15lb InvizX for sparse to moderate cover. If you get a fish that runs you into thicker cover or grass make sure to check the last 10 or 15ft for damage right away.
