  1. I strictly use them when fishing TRD’s. I never have any hookup issues or snagging anymore. I love them. The only issue with them is that is can tear up the TRD’s some. That’s why I only use the Z-Man with them as they hold up better.
  2. I have even downsized from carrying a big backpack to just carrying a lightweight drawstring bag that has what a couple of my favorite baits that I plan on using just for that day depending on conditions. It will have: 1 Spinnerbait 1 Chatterbait 1 Jerkbait 1 Jig Pack of senkos and TRD’s A few hooks and weights A couple small things like rebel craw, inline spinner and a couple paddletail swimbaits. Pair of pliers Very lightweight - not carrying a whole planko of just 1 type of lure. This has hands down been the best and I can just keep it on my back the whole time because it’s not heavy. Unlike a backpack filled with stuff where you have to constantly put it down.
  3. I live in Kentucky and the weather is starting to reach a consistent 50-65 degrees (72 tomorrow). With that said, what are your top 3 lures to throw as we transition from winter to spring (where the water is still somewhat cold but getting warmer by the day)? My three would be Jerkbait, Jig and Ned Rig. What is yours?
  4. Dang … everyone throwing a jig. lol
  5. Weather is cooling (at least where I am at) into the 70’ and 80’s. Curious what everyone’s top 3 baits to throw during this time is.
  6. I have the most success with them in creeks. Doesn’t matter when. I was just out in the creek this week (middle of summer - 100 degrees out) and there were craws everywhere.
  7. #1 Baitcaster - used for speed worms/senkos #2 Baitcaster - used for spinnerbaits/chatterbaits #3 Spinning - used for TRD’s and paddletail swimbaits What line should I use for those (I have plenty of line for mono, fluoro and braid - plus fluoro leaders). Side note: I do enjoy braid to fluoro leaders the most.
  8. I was in Meijer the other day and decided to check out their fishing section (which was a joke - mostly little work hooks and bobbers). However, the only soft plastic worm they had was Maxscent Generals in green pumpkin. There was a bunch of them. I guess because no one ever really looks at Meijer for fishing stuff. lol
  9. I'm just not sure what rods/reels/lines I should be using for which lures. I was hoping to only use 2-3 setups - so I wasn't sure I could use any of those for multiple setups. For instance, only taking 2 rods for the 4 types of lures I like to use mentioned above.
  10. Lures that I use the most: 1. Bottom - Senko 2. Middle - Spinnerbait or Swim Jig 3. Topwater - Frog, Whopper Plopper or Popper 4. Ned Rigs - TRD's and Paddletail Swimbaits Currently, I have these rods/reels/lines (but can purchase whatever to make a better setup): 1. Baitcaster - M/H - 12lb mono 2. Spinning - M - 15lb braid w/ 8lb fluoro leader Other combos that I have, but prefer the top 2 to use 3. Baitcaster - H - 15lb mono 4. Spinning - MH - 15lb braid w/ 8lb fluoro leader 5. Baitcaster - not setup with a rod or 6. Spinning - L - 8lb braid w/ 6lb fluoro leader I am mostly a bank fisherman (sometimes kayak) and prefer to only take 2-3 rods. How can I make these work? Appreciate the help!
  11. I’ve literally caught hundreds of fish on the TRD. By far my most productive lure - not even sure why I use anything else because I always end up throwing this at the end of the day. With that said … probably 75% of my bites have come off the bottom.
  12. Ned rig and small paddletail swimbait. If you don’t get any bites on that, probably not a good fishing spot. Those two will get the small ones and even the big ones.
  13. I haven't used them but I would imagine ZMan is probably the most durable. I use their TRD's for ned rigs and they can last 10-20 fish.
  14. I think I will roll with: buzzbait swim jig senko Thanks for feedback
  15. For numbers, what is your best producing topwater lure?
  16. I have every lure imaginable. Looking for 3 baits to rely on for next month and really work with them. I struggle with switching baits to often and not giving them enough time (before I switch to paddletail swimbait or NED and catch a bunch). - I mostly fish neighborhood ponds - where bass are usually in the 1-2lb range. - Half is open water, other half is grassy (no real rocks where I fish unless I creek fish). - Not sure of water temp - live in Louisville, KY (weather will be in 85-93 for next month) I'm looking to focus in on 1 topwater, 1 middle (moving), 1 bottom - that way I only take those 3 baits and start with moving, then go to bottom (with fishing evening topwater). Help me out with which 3 lures I should focus on for the next month.
  17. Just give me a TRD Ned Rig and I can catch fish all day. I can throw on a paddletail Swimbait if I want to fish moving baits. I think we all get sucked into buying more than we need, but it’s fun to just “have it”. lol
  18. I start out with Chatterbait or Spinnerbait. Then will move to a jig or senko. Topwater if early or evening (frog, whopper plopper). I have all these lures and colors and my son uses 1 lure - a TRD Ned rig. The kid will pull in fish left and right and while I am trying to catch the “bigger” ones. I always end up switching to NED hook with a small TRD or small paddletail Swimbait. Those two always catch fish and can catch big ones but mostly small ones. I love trying different methods but it makes it really hard when that is the only thing he uses and just crushes it. I always end up switching and having success because of pressure to keep up (We caught about 25 bass tonight on them) - 3 on topwater buzzbait and frog. Do you ever get pressured into throwing different lures depending on who you are with and how they are doing.
  19. I usually start off with chatterbait or spinnerbait (something moving). After never catching anything, I switch to by top 3 producers and usually do really well. 1. Ned Rig TRD 2. Texas Rig Senko 3. Paddletail Swimbait I don’t know why I keep buying all these other lures - those 3 always catch bass for me.
  20. Flukes for me. Last year, I was tearing them up. This year - nothing. I would say only 3 baits are always consistent for me. 1. Ned Rig - TRD 2. Senko 3. Paddletail Swimbait If I don’t catch anything on those 3, I would assume there just isn’t any fish in the water. lol
  21. What are your top 3 producing baits right now? Topwater hasn’t started for me yet, but my top 3 have been: Jig Senko Paddletail Swimbait
  22. I just realized my Piscifun Torrent is the same way - mechanic ... and I never have issues casting that one. I’m not sure what is wrong but something seems very off.
