Please be careful out there....
Tragedy. Terrible story.

what do you ugly stick haters use?
Hello, my name is Aaron and I hate ugly sticks... I currently use: G loomis and All Star rods. I do own others, but I typically fish only these.

Something bit my Senko in half!
May have been a shark... :-? I'm getting tired. Good night!

stitchin
Great thread, I'm the world's worst worm fisherman, don't have patience like Avid, but perhaps I might be able to do this. I'll definitely give it a try.

any other ugly stick owners out there?
I prefer my rod blank to have a spine.

Favorite Jig?
Another vote for boo-yah.

Whats Up?
I agree with you, 5" senkos catch mostly dinks. Never have tried the bigger ones.

Keeping a hooked fish away from branches and junk?
I firmly believe you need to try fishing braid around this, what sounds like to me, "heavy cover". I could not imagine even trying to land fish where I fish with 8lb monofilament.

Hydrofoil Question
Short answer: yes they help eliminate porpoising. However like others have stated, there are other variables in this equation as well.

The snowball effect.
So, I guess nobody told you that boat is actually an acronym... B.O.A.T. Break out another thousand. ;D

Need to change lower unit oil

night fishin??
Cool thread, I'm getting really psyched about a night outing. Probably been close to a year since my last. Getting the itch! Where's those articles! ;D

New PB!!!
Ah, but then it probably wouldn't have bit my toad...

night fishin??
I've done great at night with toads and buzzbaits. Down here in Florida summer nights are great for bass fishing. Beats the heck out of noon day heat.

Good deal or not?
Looks like a decent deal, but I've seen better.

question about my rods
We sell a d-shock combo at my store for $29.99. If it's the same product, I'd use it for a back up.

New PB!!!
Still didn't beat my girlfriend... Fish bit a green pumpking horny toad, in pads. Boga weighed it at 9.5lbs When am I going to break 10?!?! Frusterating to be so close!!! ;D

Swimbait setup
I'm planning on buying the ultimate bluegill soon as well. I've done some research and thus far believe I'm going to give the Okuma swimbait rods a try. I like the mini pistol grip deal at the cap. Will probably mate it with a higher capacity lo profile reel, as I don't like round reels so much.

Spincast reels ?
Don't give up on the baitcaster just yet, keep practicing during downtime.

Finally! A 10!
It does. My PB is 8lbs: I guess a lot of bass guys don't use bogas. Mine's certified, guess I'm not all that concerned about tenths of pounds. (not digital) They are a great landing tool for toothy fish, and last forever.
-
Finally! A 10!
I trust my IGFA certified boga grip WAY more than I trust your eyes. Never seen a 27" 6lb bass either.
-
Finally! A 10!
...and would you believe my GIRLFRIEND caught it INSTEAD OF ME!!! > Seriously though, I'm real proud of her. Fish bit a horny toad in pads. Measured 27", 10lbs on the nose.

Spro Frog- looking to acquire confidence
So I've been using Horney Toads and Cane Toads for over a year now, and wanted to try out the Spro Frog. So, I bought one. I tried it a couple of times. In short, I have no confidence it. I've KILLED fish on toads, but feel like I'm doing something wrong with the Spro Frog. I thought I read somewhere about trimming the legs...? Look to long to me. I've also read walking the dog... doesn't work well for me, and I can make a Spook walk all the way home. Maybe I got a dud or something. You guys fishing this frog in cover? Open water? Over matted hydrilla? Just looking for some motivation to give it a few more outings.
