  1. Put one of those articulating hitch attachments to it! So sick. Nicely done.
  2. So tough! Managed one decent fish and lots of tiny aquarium sized ones. So tough. Coupled with simply ME being hot, the wind, etc. I’m finding them on my FF deeper. In deep submerged trees but getting them to bite is tough. tough. You all doing well?
  3. I raced to work this morning. Friday. Apparently it’s garbage day on fridays and I was stopped constantly by a truck picking up trash from homes on a two lane road. Took forever. I fished for about 30 minutes. No love. Wacky 4” senko and a frog across the mats. Nothing. I’ll try again. My 6’ rod fits in the back of my giant work truck. The pond is very very thick with weeds. The wacky was snagging.
  4. Ties on a. zoom frog. And t-rig 4” SENKO as backup. I’ll get it up tomorrow
  5. I took a temporary promotion. Super stressful. And I commute now. (Boo!) but I drove out a new exit from our office complex and THERES A FREAKING POND! It’s an aerated decorated landscape pond. Pretty big too! im thinking early morning frog. My friend thinks wacky senko. Ideas? I don’t see any No fishing signs.
  6. That budget i would buy the Phenix bass Recon 7’2” medium and then buy another one and keep the change.
  7. To date I’m fishless on the dark sleeper. I keep trying tho. I don’t buy knockoffs. It hurts the manufacturers. Just my opinion.
  8. I’ve only tried Sniper. I’ve been exclusively using it ever since. For 80% of everything. All 12lb.
  9. I’m 100% PFD. I put it on and off at the truck. i tried to put it on in a swimming pool and it wasn’t easy. No thanks. I’m not tethered to my kayak. Separated, I’m dead. I won’t enjoy myself if I’m not feeling safe. So wear mine happily. Mine is cinched down snug and everything. No good if it floats up over my head. im glad you are okay OP. Thanks for sobering story. i have a whistle. It’s on a lanyard clipped to my vest. I tested it in the middle of a lake. It’s freaky loud. Made my ears ring a bit. And I have a rust proof knife. ive often wondered about my friends that don’t wear vest. I am not a strong enough swimmer to save them if they go over. Panicking I bet they can flip me over too. Not sure about my thoughts on the matter.
  10. Googled it. Looks interesting. like a super short leader drop shot. ! I would pee on a spark plug if I thought it would help. I’ll try this in the grass at Clearlake.
  11. Whoa! …. And they pay you?!! great stuff K.
  12. Easy. Mega bass mag draft freestyle!
  13. I bought mine by pointing at it and saying, “I’ll take that one” no test drive etc. I’ve never been in a kayak before. I Wouldnt know what I liked or disliked. I could barely stand up then. Now I can. I think a total rookie can stand in only the most stable of kayaks. At least this applies to me. I bet of the Hobie line I could stand up in the pro angler on that first day. That would have skewed my ideas and I would own a giant kayak now. I’m glad I didn’t buy that one. Too heavy. I might upgrade to an outback one day. But I’m pretty happy with my general purchase. I got lucky.
  14. I feel bad. Last time I almost feel out of my kayak, it was because I stood up and fist-pumped the sky when he finally caught one. I e been on the recipient end of a ass whoop before and there is no joy. I wouldn’t want that for a friend.
  15. It’s a calculus 3 math problem if you wanted to count turns of the handle. Haha.
  16. I typically avoid the math by letting my local shop spool my reels. I don’t save money. but with the constant shortage of available lines (at my shop) I elected to buy a spool. I almost bought a 200 yard roll. But say you take 110 yards, that leftover 90 yards is a short load the next time right? I bought a 660 yarder. I should get it tomorrow. Figured what the heck. I can afford an epic backlash now. how do you track line capacity?
  17. I love his vids. He talks some good stuff. I don’t agree with all of it. For example, his thoughts on reel drags. He backspins his spinning reels and freespools his baitcast and relies on solely his thumb. Crazy talk!!! but we fish our own game.
  18. 7 miles is a good day! I’m good at 8 easy My friend put a 30lb minnkota on his Nucanoe. I’m happy to report I can keep up with him easy with my Hobie. I was afraid I was gonna have to hold onto his boat for a tow.
  19. I’d love to fly out to come fish with you. Unrealistic as heck, but watching Blanchard out at the finger lakes killing it…… maybe watch a few of his recent NY videos?
  20. I was in my front yard practicing pitching a heavier bait, like for punching weed mats. I only have a righty reel for the task. Switching hands takes up precious moments. It was going to be the one lefty reel I bought (soon). then I tried it. I can pitch and cast fairly well with my left hand. I pitch equally well. I tried a cast sidearm and I flung it way out there. Accuracy went into the toilet. Haha. My timing t the release is okay, not great. Pitching is fine. Almost safer since my right hand can handle the hooked bait better. Weird. I can use chopsticks with either hand as well.
  21. bummer. I can't watch videos where the fisherman just nonchalantly tosses the fish back into the water from a height. or slams them into the side of the boat. it's hard to watch. I bet your fish is fine, if it swam off. kudos for caring about your catch. get a lip gripper and swap out the hook.
  22. That’s a nice looking lake. Keep in mind I’m a rookie. But I think there’s more than just the topo. I’ve been catch more fish in the areas that wind is blowing towards. I find shoreline that the wind is blowing into. I think it’s pushing in bait. My buddy casts to the shallows looking for the fish that crept in to eat. I cast to the deeper drop off with a drop shot. He seems to catch slightly more, but my fish are bigger. ‘’oh, about boat traffic. I might be imagining things. But if I get caught in a boat wake, I steady myself and casts to shore. I seem to get bit then super frequently. I think the bigger waves dislodge food for fish.
