Do we all carry too much tackle for too many techniques
If you are out on the water, look behind you, and see that you are towing a " tackle barge", then maybe you have too much tackle with you LOL. Seriously though I always carry as much as I can for the days " old faithful " doesn't do the trick, and I have to throw everything under the sun to find what the fish want. That being said, I don't have, nor can I afford every size, shape, and color out there, but I always try to carry a few of enough different things so I never have to think " If only I had brought XXXX or XXXX I would have caught fish. Thanksgiving Day Sale 15% off everything
I'll second this. I placed my first order with him yesterday. Within an hour of that he responded with an E-mail asking me about my order and suggestions about what I had ordered. I'm impressed to say the least, and will use him as my go to from now on. Jim

folding net ?
Hi all, Not sure if this is considered "Tackle" but I'll give it a try. I'm in the market for a folding net to use in a smaller boat. I'd like something that will collapse and fit in a storage locker when not in use. Does anyone use a net like that and if so which one. So far the only one I've looked at is the one from Cabela's @ around $ 80. Thanks Jim

Usually not this lucky
Hi all, Thanks for the replies, Bigbill- I'm fortunate, I have always lived in this area, the sea food can't be beat. Outdoors- It might be a bleeding shad, it has some reddish orange around the gills. If anyone is planning a trip to the KTP let me know, I'm within 5 miles of there, maybe we could meet. Jim

Usually not this lucky
My wife and I were out doing some errands this A.M. and happened to drive past the Kittery Trading Post. We were surprised to see a very long line of people waiting by the front entrance. When we got home I checked the KTP web site and found they were having a food drive. The first 1000 people to donate non perishable food items got a gift card $ 10 up to $500. We grabbed some cans of food and ran back down. We lucked out and were among the last to get in under the 1000 first people to bring food. Our gift cards were for $20 and $75. I have a post in on getting a "starter kit" of crank baits ( I've never used crank baits but want to try them) and the replies I've gotten have been very helpful, so with the info I've gotten so far we hit the fishing dept. It seems we lucked out again as the fishing dept. was having a pre black Friday sale today, buy three lures and get the forth for a penny. The displays were not that full but I think we did pretty well. For donating a few cans of soup we got 4 RNR-7 rattlin Repala's, 4 half oz. Rat-l-trap, 4 Strike king KVD 1.5 dives 3-5 ft. and because I love frogs 4 booyah pad crashers. This kinda taught me a lesson. I've been waiting for sales at Cabelas, BPS, TWH, etc. but never thought to check KTP in my own neighborhood. Every one says " no pictures didn't happen" so here's some pics.

Refurbished TM
I'm in the same place as you, Looking at the same motor for a new boat. My thought was that I could run it solid for the first year I'd be tempted. But since we spend half of the year looking at ice and snow I decided to pass. I'll be picking up a new one, hopefully on black Friday, and know I'll get two full seasons under warranty. Jim

boatless until spring
I know just what you mean. We hated to see our old boat leave. My wife had a few tears seeing our old boat heading for it's new home. I don't think she would have let it go if we weren't convinced the gentleman who bought it was going to take care of it. We made a lot of good memories in it. However for several reasons it was time to upgrade. Jim

crank bait starter kit ?
Hi all, I have a confession to make. Out side of using the original Rapala back in the day, I have never used crank baits. Out side of top water and fishing on the bottom ( jigs), soft plastics is all I have used. I would like to give them a try but the variety available quite frankly overwhelms me. So if I were to get some what would be a good starter kit. Say three shallow, three medium, and three deep divers. I fish in southern Maine and am looking to target LM and SM. Thanks Jim

G Loomis E6X-- did I do the right thing?
Actually, the way the salesmen explained it to me, I needed a salt water rod to throw salted plastics. In that case a fresh water rod would wouldn't work

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
It hit me today, G loomis E6X marked down to $ 130 from $ 200. Couldn't resist.

Cost of lures?
I only have a few expensive baits. ( I call a Whopper Plopper expensive ). And they catch fish, but I cringe when I use them for fear a pickerel will take off with it. Jim

G Loomis E6X-- did I do the right thing?
Hi All, I have been looking for a MH-H spinning rod for some time to throw heaver spinner baits, jigs, swim baits, whopper ploppers etc. My budget is around $ 100. I was planning to wait for black Friday. However I was in a local sporting good store this A.M. and saw a small rack marked salesmen sample special. I poked thru it and saw a G Loomis spinning rod. I have never used a G Loomis rod, but know many of you love them. It's a E6X inshore 7 foot Heavy fast 10-17 line 1/4-1 oz. It was $ 200 marked down to $ 130. It was over my budget, but looked and felt really good, and was never used, so I bought it. I know inshore is supposed to be saltwater, but I don't know why it wouldn't work for throwing the above baits in fresh water, ( the fish sure wouldn't know). Am I correct in thinking this ? Thanks Jim

Cabelas pro series onboard charger?
I've found Great East to be hit or miss. There are places close by G.E. that have more consistent fishing. I'm in Eliot and fish that area a lot. As for the charger, I'm thinking I'll see what the prices are on black Friday. Jim

Cabelas pro series onboard charger?
Thanks, that's good info. I've fished Great East several times. Are you local to the area? Jim
