  2. AT, Welcome home!!! I got back home in July from my 3rd deployment. Then pcs'ed to FLW, Mo. They are making me be an instructor. Take it slow, spend time with family. I have only been fishing a couple of times since returning home. I am getting ready for the new year. I have patience and anger issues now, I take one day at a time. My wife has has been helpful, she does not push me to talk when I do not want to. I hope your back gets better soon. Know go and enjoy your block leave. M_Fields

I just wanted to let every one know that I made it back from Iraq, I made it home in July. Since them I have moved from Washington to Missouri. I sure do miss Washington :'(, I moved to the middle of bfe. I am somewhat settle in, I hate moving. Yall take care and be safe. M_Fields
  5. I enjoy it alot. I have a Bow Tech Tomcat and it is a sweet little set up. I have not been able to get out and hunt as much as I would like. Due to a 3 year tour to Germany and the tours to the wild, wild West. Hopefully this year I will be able to spend some in the woods. M_Fields
  6. Proudly serving in th US ARMY since 1993- To many deployments to mention, I am currently on my 3rd tour to Iraq. I am almost done with this one. M_Fields
  7. Hello, Welcome and enjoy the forum. M_Fields
  8. Bass_junky, Now that the sun is out, you could find some active fish. A couple of my buddies did okay and not so okay. If you are not familiar with this lake, go out and explore and have a good time. Aslo be vary patient and fish very slow. Through your bait or lure several times before you move on. M_Fields
  9. Bassin24-7, I would say they are talking Silver Lake near Castle Rock. M_Fields
  10. Welcome to the forum, For fishing for smallie's with tubes and such, I would recommend a 6' medium action rod. I like the G. Loomis GL3 model with a 1000 Stradic for what you are asking. I rigg it with 6 or 8 lb line. It is also a very useful rod that can be used for other things. M_Fields
  11. Hop, I would go with a Citica, happy shoping. Watch out for that Bait Monkey, he will get you. Let us know what you decided to get, and how it is working out for you. M_Fields
  12. ls1jay, Nice pic's!! That must have been awesome to catch those 2 pig's right after one another. Thanks for posting them. M_Fields
  13. Jay, Welcome to the forum. I look forward to seeing some green backs from Florida. M_Fields
  14. SFC_AL, It is only a matter of time before we go again. I know what you are going through. I am currently on my thrid rotation, and I will be going home soon. I can not wait, I miss my family and friends alot. I personally have had alot of support from family and my friends from the Bass Club in Washington. They sent alot of care packages to me. So I could pass them out to my Soldiers. When you get to Iraq, if you want to, send me a PM with your address and I will send some stuff to you if you would like. There have been alot of changes, so the living conditions are better. Then when I get back I have like only 90 days then I have to PCS to Ft. Leonardwood, Mo. Thanks for your service and stay motivated. M_Fields
  15. FD, I will use a spinning set up if I need or want to down size my line. Sometimes I get a better action with it. My wife can not throw a bc. So she uses the spinning set up, and when she starts to out fish me, I will go to the same set up. Hope this helps. M_Fields
  16. BassBeat101, I like the line and I have used it. What type of method would you be using? Becareful of line twist, spool it up right and you should be okay. M_Fields
  17. Cool !! Sounds like you two had a awesome time. M_Fields
  18. I bought a used boat 1 owner, 3 years ago and have been very satisfied with it. I have had to update the electronics and trolling motor. I just want to warn you to take your time and be careful when buying used. Do not buy someone elses problems. Pay the extra money to get the motor checked out and see the paper work from the checks or see them check it out for your self. Test ride it and fish from it if possible. I have been thinking of upgrading to a new boat, but I am going keep my current boat. I really enjoy it and do not really see any "real" reasons to upgrade. Except I think I would like a 20ft boat. I have 1999 ZXc 185 Skeeter, with Yamaha 150. M_Fields

  20. Good link. 79% Dixie That is pretty strong Southern score. I grew up in the South, but I have lived in several states and a couple of different countries. M_Fields
  21. All I have to say is AWESOME, AWESOME!!!!! Nice pics.
  22. I like P-Line, and I have heard alot of good things about the Gamma Line. Far as a braided line, I like the Suffix.
  23. So many choices, I like the Lamiglass 702 or the 704. I think that they will cost you alittle more than $100.00. I paid like $120.00 for mine, but that was acouple of summers ago. Also, Shimano has a nice rod too.
  24. Cephkiller, That is what I was talking about, the wobble, the grid, and it takes up slack better. The Stradic to me is a smoother reel. Do not get me wrong the Symetre is a good reel. M_Fields
  25. I own both of these reels, and I prefer the Stradic. All of my Stradics are smoother and I can feel a difference when the bite is real light. I feel like a have more sensativity with it. Just my opinion. M_Fields
