I wanted a setup just like you (OP) described. Settled on slx mgl 8.1 paired with a Curado 610 medium light. Reel is spooled with 20 lb power pro Maxcuatro with 7 - 12 lb leader depending on application. When casting the slx mgl, baits seems to fly off the reel. Can cast shaky head as well or better than my other spinning outfits. The setup is very nimble and light. It’s very fun to fish with.

Nice catch! Hate to hear about your rod though. Had a similar thought a few weeks back. Doubled up on a magnum deep crank bait with a pair of big spotted bass. Lost the crank, the fish, and didn’t get a pic. Guess we all do it sometimes…

Kaden would be the best bet. Like others have stated, the Kaden gets to the backbone of the rod faster or higher in the blank. This action is better suited for what your use will be. Have the 744 and one of my favorite sticks!

Great question OP. Have used the premier rod. The blank is nice itself -lightweight with a nice moderate action for moving baits. However, when setting the hook, your baitcaster reel seem to move and wobble when fighting a fish within the reel seat. So much so that I have stopped using the rod. Have and use the aird x and ethos HD. For the price difference it is worth the step up in quality for fish fighting ability. Hope that helps.
