Coffee - Whats your brand and how do you drink it?
Buy mine green from Sweet Maria's and Roast them in a Behmor 2000. Pays for itself quickly, but more importantly will make you not like any roaster. The beauty in green beans is that the quality is up to how you process them, not someone else. This was my first capuccino today. Edit for pic....by the way is there a short cut here so I don't have to use the attach media for URL's? I tried this first...

what is the best spinner bait rod?
I built out a St Croix Elite blank to 7'10" for throwing spinnerbaits. 5C70MHF. Love the extra length for covering water and the fast tip/heavy back bone for getting them back and popping off milfoil and other fun weeds. I have some shorter sticks that occasionally get a spinnerbait as well when I am putting them under or around targets, but the 7'10" is surprisingly accurate even with all the length since it controls the bait so well. Some of the extra length is in the butt as I like to tuck it in my arm as I reel back and I am 6'7" so it isn't quite as long as it sounds.

And shortening the learning curve is the best way to build confidence. There is no "need" but there is also no need to carry anywhere near as much tackle as we all do.

Favorite Hair Jig Colors/Patterns?
For someone who has never thrown them for bass are there recommendations of ones to buy?

Putting together a skipping combo.
Not everyone asks the question for reliance. I need another setup so I am moving a reel to a different rod. Having a 9 and 11 year old that want to copy dad means I want something ideal for it so they can pick it up as well. Yes, they have their own spinning setups that are nearly ideal for it, but when they see me hook a big 'un on a 1/2oz jig they will want to throw my rod. I don't want to tell them no and shorten their excitement in any way.

First Aid Kit
For those that pack their own first aid kit, what do you put in it? I am also not keen on the store bought ones, but *knock on wood* haven't needed one yet. Would love to have a shopping/packing list.

No one here propose a DC reel for skipping?- Putting together a skipping combo.
Great clarification, thanks. I was indeed referring to the 2021 Zillion. https://japantackle.com/reg0000293.html Not in a huge rush as living in MN means I don't need it until the water gets soft again. In HOURS of reading the 2 answers are always Tatula SV or a DC Shimano. And lol, yep the crouching baseball style is what I thought was the right method initially as well. Amusing since the roll cast was what I used in the same situations where I didn't need to skip, but reverted to being an idiot when I did. Accidental skipping during a roll cast showed me my errors.- Putting together a skipping combo.
Have you compared to one of the Shimano's more geared towards this? Currently shopping a Zillion SV or Scorpion DC for my weighted skipping setup. In all the reading I've done on the board and beyond there is the joker that states use a spinning rod, others that end in Shimano DC and the rest Daiwa SV. Zillion & Scorpion are about the same price, but I have yet to see someone say they have used both or at least a Tatula/Curado DC. In my case it is going on an 844 IMX blank.- from MN

Name is Sean. Took a few years off fishing to spend raising some kids. They are now old enough to fish with me so I bought myself a kid friendly boat (Ranger 620t...hurt to not buy a bass boat, but taking 2-4 kids fishing in one isn't ideal). Been trying to catch up on what is new and I've spent countless hours reading, searching and absorbing. Figured it was time to join and engage further. - Putting together a skipping combo.
